My name's Rick Smith and I grew up in Catonsville.
I came across a great home video on archives.com
The Baltimore half consists of streetcar views
which must have fascinated the tourists in 1958.
Fayette Street, all around City Hall, and out Belair Rd.
I was trying to identify all the shots, some were easy
like Bittorf Ford, Lasalle Ave, the Gardenville Yard,
and the Overlea Loop, but a couple I can't spot.
The last shot looks like Gay St downtown, but there's
a shot climbing a hill, I assume on Belair Rd???
Anyway, I wasn't from around there, though I
did take the number 8 from Poly to Catonsville,
which went by City Hall and up Fayette past
Trailways.

I asked if I could ride out there sunday and look it over, and she said sure. If you have a stand set might just end up sitting in that rather than taking my Summit climber. She says it's a small lot, so I want to see what I'm up for rather than going in blind, and in the dark.
