  1. High blood pressure is no longer just an affliction of the elderly, as more than one-third of young people between the ages of 16 and 34 are now said to suffer from some form of hypertension. And a recent study out of California revealed that, if left unchecked, this cardiovascular malady, even in its mild form, can lead to premature aging and brain damage. The conventional solution to this growing health epidemic is to simply take more blood pressure medications like angiotensin-receptor blockers, which have been scientifically linked to causing cancer and other serious health problems. But the alternative route, which should really just be called the common-sense route, is to eat more foods and herbs that naturally lower blood pressure without causing any harmful side effects. Here are six natural and quick remedies that will help you keep your blood pressure in check, and avoid the long-term health pitfalls associated with prolonged hypertension: 1) Raw almonds. Eating just a handful of truly raw almonds every day can make a significant difference in keeping your blood pressure levels in check. A key component of the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension Diet, also known as DASH, raw almonds are rich in monounsaturated fats, which have been scientifically proven to help lower blood cholesterol levels, reduce arterial inflammation, and ultimately lower blood pressure levels. Even though they are high in fat and calories, almonds also help promote weight loss and the building of lean muscle mass, which means they naturally promote healthy circulation. When eaten in conjunction with other blood pressure-lowering nuts like walnuts, almonds are one of the most powerful cardiovascular "superfoods" available. 2) Cayenne pepper. Arguably one of the fastest foods to lower blood pressure, cayenne pepper is a powerful vasodilator, which means it helps expand blood vessels and improve blood flow. This effect naturally lowers blood pressure levels by increasing the rate at which blood flows throughout the circulatory system, which in turn takes some of the pressure off arterial walls. Mixing one or two teaspoons of cayenne pepper in either warm water or tea with both honey and aloe vera is a powerful homemade remedy for alleviating hypertension. If this beverage is too spicy for your tastes, taking cayenne pepper capsule supplements is another great option for lowering blood pressure naturally. 3) Coconut water. Rich in potassium, electrolytes, and other important nutrients, coconut water has been shown to help significantly lower blood pressure levels in most of the people that drink it. A recent study published in the West Indian Medical Journal found that drinking coconut water helped 71 percent of participants achieve a significant reduction in systolic pressure, and 29 percent of participants achieve a significant reduction in diastolic pressure. The results were even more amplified when participants drank both coconut water and mauby, a tropical drink made from buckthorn tree bark. 4) Raw cacao. Rich in flavonoids and other anti-inflammatory nutrients, raw cacao is another food-based weapon against hypertension that you will want to keep readily stocked in your health arsenal. Not only do the flavonoids in cacao function as adaptogens to help the body better deal with stress, which is a common cause of hypertension, but they also help regulate stress hormone levels throughout the body, which play a critical role in blood pressure regulation. Numerous studies have also found that cacao flavonoids demonstrably reduce blood pressure levels upon consumption, resulting in an average blood pressure reduction of 4.7/2.8 millimeters of mercury (mmHg). Cacao flavonoids also help protect the body against stroke and heart disease, which are commonly linked to high blood pressure. 5) Turmeric. Modern science is just barely hitting the tip of the iceberg concerning the superfood capacity of turmeric, also commonly known as curcumin. But one of the herb's already known benefits concerns its abilities to significantly decrease inflammation throughout the body, which is a primary cause of high cholesterol and even high blood pressure. By actively reducing inflammation, turmeric helps improve cardiovascular function and maintain healthy blood flow. When taken alongside non-irradiated black pepper, the primary active ingredient of which is piperine, turmeric is a powerhouse at loosening up blood vessels and clearing the buildup that often leads to high blood pressure. Turmeric is also a natural blood thinner, which is another way this powerful herb aids in the fight against hypertension. 6) Garlic. A 2010 study out of Australia found that garlic is another powerful food-based medicine that naturally lowers cholesterol levels and reduces blood pressure. Taking garlic tablets or capsule supplements is a great way to regularly consume the herb in high enough amounts to derive significant benefits.
  2. What does it take to disabuse the majority of food consumers that a no or low fat diet is actually unhealthy. There have been conventional cardiologists who've recently asserted that we need healthy fats to maintain good cardiovascular health. They have debunked the myth of cholesterol as the cause of clogged arteries and heart attacks and warned about statin drugs' dangers. Statin drugs do lower cholesterol. But brain and nervous system tissue need cholesterol and other types of fats to rebuild and maintain proper function. Statin users have a high rate of dementia, including Alzheimer's. Skin cholesterol is what starts the conversion process of UVB sunlight exposure to vitamin D3 in the liver. Without cholesterol, there's no conversion, thus insufficient vitamin D3. Now, recent mainstream research discoveries have shown that a high fat diet can reverse aggressive cancers. Don't expect any faction of the cancer industry to disclose this. They all need to receive funding to research patentable drugs that don't cure while they keep killing with chemo, radiation, and surgery to enrich Big Pharma. The high fat ketogenic diet - tried and true There are several anecdotal cancer reversals with this diet, but the most amazing involves a former world power lifting champion, trainer, and successful business owner Dr. Fred Hatfield. He has the doctor title because he completed graduate studies in kinesiology. Hatfield was diagnosed with aggressive, metastatic skeletal cancer. Three doctors gave the same prognosis of three months left to live. He desperately researched and came across the ketogenic diet as something he should try. University of South Florida metabolic researcher Dr. Dominic D'Agostino had discovered that cancerous mice who were put on high fat non-carbohydrate glucose diets recovered from cancer better than mice on chemotherapy. Maybe that's not saying much, but Fred Hatfield had nothing to lose and put it to the test. He avoided all carbohydrates and sugars. He consumed a fair amount of good meats and lots of good fats, not cheap trans-fatty acid hydrogenated oils or margarine that are one molecule away from being plastic and cannot be metabolized. Among the good fats are eggs, avocado, cold pressed olive, flax seed, hemp oils, real butter, and the once vilified coconut oil. Yes, even the maligned saturated fats. Hatfield's cancer cleared up in a few, short months and he was still in good health a year later. Researcher Dr. D'Agostino has received communication from a dozen others who have successfully used a ketogenic diet to reverse cancer. Cancer cells ferment glucose to thrive because they are deprived of oxygen that normal healthy cells use for metabolism. Good, healthy fats deliver fatty acids that are converted to energy bestowing ketones when the body's cells are deprived of glucose. That's how coconut oil has reversed Alzheimer's. The conversion of ketones provides energy to brain cells that aren't metabolizing oxygen as well as before. Normal cells can convert ketones for energy; cancer cells cannot. So replacing glucose with ketones starves cancer cells. No side effects, except for weight loss. Take that conventional fat-free weight loss programs. CBN health reporter Lorrie Johnson, who covered the Hatfield story, claims it's okay to modify the ketogenic diet somewhat after cancer is reversed. She uses a less strict ketogenic diet after surviving her cancer. Introducing some complex carbs that aren't easily converted to glucose seems okay without cancer. Regardless of the well known fact that cancer cells thrive on simple sugars, oncologists never warn their patients about this. Instead, they are fed ice cream or pastries often while undergoing IV chemotherapy. All alternative cancer therapies have a cancer diet foundation that excludes sugar and simple carbohydrates that convert to glucose easily
  3. The Grapefruit diet is a short-termed diet, which only lasts for a mere 2 ½ months. This diet can cause rapid weight loss and is highly popular among those who want to lose those extra pounds in a jiffy. The grapefruit itself is such a healthy fruit. The fruit is known to contain literally no fat at all! It can help you to lose weight, as it is an energy-giving fruit. At the same time, it keeps your thyroid hormone well balanced and ensures a proper intake of fatty acids. It contains lots of potassium and is good for the heart. It however contains large amounts of vitamin C, antioxidants in the form of beta-carotene, sodium, and fiber.
