  1. Here is the article in the Sun. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/high-school/bs-va-sp-robinson-florida-0526-story.html
  2. From what I am hearing from fathers and players in the McDonogh athletic program when this gets out heads will roll. People will be shocked when they hear the details. It will be a national story. As disgusting as it gets.
  3. Georgetown arguably has top 10 talent. Rodney Pryor is a beast transfer, and Hoyas have a lot more experience than Maryland. Peak, Campbell, Copeland, Govan, Johnson all played a lot last year. They missed Hayes but the Hoyas have better talent than Maryland. I was expecting a 10-15 point victory. Total meltdown in last minute. Maryland freshman were impressive.
  4. GA, I don't want to go back and forth with you but with all due respect have you attended any of Maryland's practices and watched Turgeon teach and see how well he treats his players? I think if you went to one of his practices you would come away with a different opinion. I did not think highly of Turgeon until I attended a couple of his practices. They don't have their coaches clinic this year but if you are close with the Gilman basketball staff they will let high school coaching staffs attend practice. You just have to contact Nima or Bino in advance. Last year's team was a difficult team to coach with everyone with their own agenda trying to pad stats for the NBA. They still advanced to the sweet 16. Let's see how they do this year. Turgeon's record before UMD. 2000–01 Wichita State 9–19 4–14 9th 2001–02 Wichita State 15–15 9–9 T–5th 2002–03 Wichita State 18–12 12–6 T–3rdNIT Opening Round 2003–04Wichita State 21–11 12–6 T–2nd NIT Second Round 2004–05 Wichita State 22–10 12–6 2nd NIT Second Round 2005–06Wichita State 26–9 14–4 1st NCAA Sweet Sixteen 2006–07 Wichita State 17–14 8–10 6th Wichita State: 128–90 (.587) 71–55 (.563) Texas A&M Aggies (Big 12 Conference) (2007–2011) 2007–08 Texas A&M 25–11 8–8 6th NCAA Round of 32 2008–09 Texas A&M 24–10 9–7 T–4th NCAA Round of 32 2009–10 Texas A&M 24–10 11–5 T–2nd NCAA Round of 32 2010–11 Texas A&M 24–9 10–6 3rd NCAA Round of 64 Texas A&M: 97–40 (.708) 38–26 (.594)
  5. I will follow-up on that.
  6. You have to be in for all sports. Goretti was grandfathered in the Catholic league years ago. They are the lone exception. I don't see St. Frances breaking ties.
  7. Because of basketball (boys and girls) I do not see this happening.
  8. Wrong!!! I can back to when I was in 8th grade the winter of 1979, playing the Buccaneers on Monday nights at Loch Raven The Buccaneers had Pop Tubman, Marc Wilson, and Duane Ferrell on their team. Every time we played them Coach Amatucci from Calvert Hall was there recruiting them. All three ended up at Calvert Hall with the Edwards brothers and they were the number one team in the nation. Dunbar was number 2. I want to thank Coach Boggi for all he did to help young men in Baltimore City. Gilman put Baltimore football on the national map. It was great to see the likes of Cyrus Jones playing in the national championship. His staff will only bring good things to St. Frances.
  9. Special teams lost the game.
  10. The game I saw Dunbar DC vs Lake Clifton was at Catholic University. Lake's starting lineup, Pop Wright, Arnold Clyde Gaines, the Graham brothers, and Robert Brown. Coached by Woody Williams that was one talented team!!!
  11. Give Seth who came over from Oakland Mills time. Only his second or third year. Obviously from the football team the athletes are there. Robinson came over to Howard from Mt. Hebron and has girls program rolling. I think they won the howard county championship last year. Boys program has potential. Seth is a good coach. Give him time.
