  1. First pc was bought in 1997 486sx25I think. Had windows 3.1 with a 500mb hard drive and a b/w monitor. The look on my face must have been priceless when the man I bought it from connected the dial up modem to the internet. It was later upgraded a "green" cpu chip of some kind. It lasted me through an upgrade to Windows 95. Finally bought an Acer desktop in 1999 and the processor speed was AMAZING compared to the 486!
  2. Yeah it's called making reservations with Southwest Airlines! Possibly in May!
  3. Starting to get that yearly urge for a visit to Vegas!
  4. I'm hoping to go again in the Spring. We'll see how the money flows between now and then.
  5. I'm scheduled for jury duty starting October 1st but we close on our house we're buying in Delaware on Sept. 28th. Not sure how to handle that one yet.
  6. What makes you say that after just one year of being Head Coach? Now if this was year 3 or 4 and the Terps were fighting to have a winning record I'd agree. But this is year two and with his recruiting bringing in better players the future is looking bright to me.
  7. Well, I'm in the process of buying a house in Delaware. My GF and I both work in Delaware and the double taxes thing is eating us up moneywise each tax season. So we've decided to buy a house together and make the move. We only live 5 miles from the Delaware line now as it is. But after the move we'll be about 5 miles from the Maryland line. The scary part for me is that it looks like I'll be paying two mortgages or at least 1 1/2 mortgages. My current house that is only in my name is for sale but hasn't sold yet. It's older and needs a lot of work and is being sold in as is condition. The land it sits on is worth pretty much what the asking place for the whole thing is. But we haven't had any nibbles yet. As for renting it out I don't feel it is in the best condition to rent it out either. So money is going to get a bit tight until it does sell. I guess if it comes right down to it I'll pick up a part time job to help. But overall we both are excited about it. She is especially because it is her first home she has bought. So this is a big accomplishment for her.
  8. Love going to Vegas. Would like to move there but I doubt it will happen.
  9. To make it even sweeter the ladies won their Championship too!
  10. There is one out there that might work for you. Android x86
  11. I see that you can spot lurkers now by the Online Users link. Damn thing tells right where you are on the site. I don't think I like that feature.
  12. Mock, *big hugs*, have you thought about putting your pain down in written words? Maybe keep a diary type account of your feelings and what you have been going through. It might be easier than putting them into spoken words and you'd still be able to release them somewhat. It might help and it might not but it can't hurt to try.
  13. The Terps had to be ranked 1st at the end of the 2002 season didn't they?
  14. C'mon Norman, please? I can even throw in my Staying Alive walk from Saturday Night Fever.
  15. Back in the late 80's we got to watch a Bison being born at the Salisbury Zoo. Of course my son was the first to notice and said in a loud voice, "Hey Daddy, what's that sticking out of that Bison butt?" It the baby Bison's leg coming first. The Mom walked around as the baby slowly was born. She then turned around and cleaned it up. After a few minutes the baby Bison tried standing. It fell several times but eventually made it to all fours. The baby got a loud ovation.
  16. When I'm walking through the casino and the song Shaft comes on the radio I'll break out into my "Shaft" strut!...
  17. Well, I know a few may have wondered and most couldn't care less but here is an update about my shoulder injury. Things have not went well for my shoulder. 9 months later I'm still in daily pain and have limited movement. First of July I went through two weeks of bad shoulder pain. After it eased off my movement starting going backwards. It got more limited as the weeks dragged on. I kept telling people that my pain was in the muscle and the deltoid nerve in my shoulder. But it seemed like no one would listen to me about the muscle pain. It's almost like they were discounting it since it was supposed to be a shoulder injury. My orthopedic doctor started talking about a "refurbished" (my term) shoulder surgery. He wanted to replace the glenoid part of the shoulder and cap the ball on the end of my arm. So surgery was scheduled for December 21st. This was the first of September so I was going to have a 2 1/2 month wait. In the mean time I had to stop therapy to save the rest of my visits (30 a year) for after surgery. About a month before surgery the doctor calls and wants to re-evaluate the refurbished surgery. He was afraid if he did that surgery and it didn't fix the pain problem then he didn't have another avenue to go down. He was now considering arthroscopic surgery first to fix the rotator cuff tear and clean up scar tissue. He also wanted me to see his colleague that is the head of the orthopedic center for a second opinion.I went to see him next. I think he was the one that finally listened to me about the muscle pain. They then sent me for an EMG nerve conduction test. The results of the nerve conduction test showed that I now have a rare nerve condition called Brachial Neuritis. I was told that only 3 in 100,000 people get it It tends to attack shoulder muscles when they're injured. They don't think it was from the original injury. They believe it was from when I was sick in the spring for about two months. I had a form of mono but that wasn't mono. They think that is where the Brachial Neuritis got it's start. Sooo, the surgery was cancelled and I go back to therapy for now until it clears up. They say it can be anywhere from a few months to a couple years. So it seems I'm stuck with pain daily until whenever my body decides to fix itself.
  18. Thanks for asking, Norman. Well, I'm still in pain. It's been over a year now since my fall and injury. But with help I can get my arm almost to a 180 degree lift. Without help I'm about 90 degrees. Most of my pain is in the muscle area still. If I can get rid of that I'd be doing pretty good. We just went to Vegas again on vacation. No trip to the Grand Canyon though. Won a couple $375.00 jackpots with the second one on the day we were leaving. That meant that money came back with me.
  19. I'm looking forward to the new season. Hoping Melo gets back to his freshmen self and forgets about that sophomore year. Excited to see all the new guys and see how well they gel. Huerter is supposed to be lights out from the three. Want to see if Brantley and Nickens have improved. Praying that Dodd's hands have softened up and he's actually ready for the ball in the paint. Maybe since the expectations aren't so high this year we'll fly under the radar a little bit.
  20. We flew with them once and my girlfriend refuses to fly with them anymore. She says she'd rather pay more than to fly with them. She felt like we were sardines stuffed in a can. By the time we paid baggage fees we we could have flown Southwest for about the same price.
  21. Mariah Carey Sara Rue My Mom (she passed when I was 5 years old) Ronald Reagan
  22. AWWWWW, Bowie sorry to hear about Tatum!
  23. I'm a computer person too so I understand spending money on computer parts too!...*LOL* That's the other thing I am guilty of spending money on. Even though that hobby has dwindled in interest some.
  24. I personally don't expect to win a huge jackpot when I go. I'm happy with hitting for $50.00 or more. But I go in expecting to lose my money. No different than going to a movie these days and dropping $30.00 there. I "budget" $40.00 for a casino visit. Usually even if I do hit for a couple hundred dollars I still play to that $40.00 budget and then walk a way. I know that isn't true for everybody but just me.
