my credit is great, dad beat financial responsibilty into our heads from a very young age & i've been lucky with job stability. i bought my house by myself at age 25 & just refinanced down to 2.75%!!
Wow, RavensGrrlrl, I am a Broker in my own Real Estate Company and I have NEVER, outside of a privately financed deal or a very liberal adjustable rate mortgage seen an interest rate on borrowed real estate money at 2.75%, Good for you, that is almost FREE money. You should be very proud of yourself.

A 15 year fixed at 2.75% is about as good as it gets today. I'm a big fan of the 15 year mortgage - especially for a refi.

    Congrats RavensGrrlrl!

My step-daughter needed a 30 year-fixed to keep her payments to a point where she is comfortable. But I have her paying her mortgage every two weeks rather than monthly and have advised her to make an extra payment whenever she has spare cash.
