    Clue #1- Yee-Haw!! - a claim to fame.

Clue #2- Our man's father was a friend of Thomas Jefferson, was a judge at the U.S. Circuit Court at Richmond, Virginia, and became Governor of Virginia.

Clue #3- When our man was twelve he was entered into the preparatory branch of the College of William and Mary, and graduated from that college at age seventeen.

Clue #4- At least twice in his life, our man fell into situations where he was required to fill an important vacancy.

Clue #5- He believed in, and purportedly loved, the outdoor life- log cabins, hard cider, and never, ever tipped the canoe.

Sorry, bad storms, s-o-o-o no PC for a bit. Yes, poor man, I think we all know him only by Tippiecanoe and Tyler too. Then the hero of Tippiecanoe dies after being elected and everyone says "Wait a minute, who's that?". The major plus of his administration seems to be the annexation of Texas and setting the protocol of who becomes President if he should die in office. Now I also know that he liked to play the violin.

    Congrats, WINNER!!

    Your turn........

    1. Our man became a page to Queen Leonor at the royal court after the death of his parents during his tenth year.

    2. He and his men saw some unusual animals in their day, such as a black "goose" that had to be skinned instead of plucked...it was a penguin.

Wow, what an interesting statue. At first I thought it was a pirate, but maybe an explorer. Either way, they made him look sexy.
Since the island is a part of the Magallanes, perhaps Ferdinand Magellan?
