I don't think they usually release those kinds of things, so probably not.

I would have given a 7th for him.

How long does it take to clear waivers?

He was released to clear a roster spot so offering a player would not have been sufficient.
You are right - I totally missed the words "be able to". Hey, give me a freaking break already - I hadn't had my second cup of coffee yet when I read it.

There are 2 other variables involved right now:

    1. Any team claiming Baskett on waivers will have to assume 16/17th of his $1.545M salary. There may be some teams that are interested in him, but not at that price - either because they feel it's too much or because they don't want to use that much cap space on a 4th/5th WR.

    2. The Ravens may fall into the later category as they only have around $2.2M in Cap space presently.

Given that there are allegedly 7 teams interested and none apparently were willing to even throw a 7th round pick at the Eagles leads me to believe that most don't want him at that $1.545M salary and are willing to see if he makes it through waivers and can be gotten for cheaper, since most FA of his stature (or lack thereof) can only expect a minimum deal ($620K) on the FA market.

That said, it only takes one and I think there will be one who will be willing to take him on at that price.

Sucks for Hank, he's got a baby on the way and a hot wife to appease... That 1.5m would have eased a lot of pain...
