I taped the film for tv with Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore. Great, great acting. The story breaks my heart and yet there's something admirable about Big Edie refusing to give up her home- damn the brother, husband, the sons, the world.

She was cheated buy her brother out of her share of the Bouvier trust. Her husband was tired of her frivolity and cheating. He was punatiive in a way ( no alimony) but it's understandable. Less so the sons, who had money, allowing their mother and sister to live in squalor but they were just as stubborn as Mom and sister.

Jackie Onassis proved to be incredibly kind hearted- paying for the renovations and clean up that allowed her relatives to keep live in their home. Somehow she manuvered her male cousins into paying the back taxes. After Big Edie died, her daughter was able to sell the house for an even greater renovation to Ben Bradlee and Sally Quinn. Now, it's a show place again.
