Default Owings Mills Lineman Donovan Smith dominates at US Army Jr. Combine

Donovan Smith the All-State Second Team Offensive Tackle of Owings Mills High finished as one of the Top 10 linemen out of the 75 or so linemen that were invited from across the country. He made the All Army Combine Second team with strong consideration for First Team. He held his own against defensive ends from Texas, Florida, California and Louisiana.

As quoted by Michigan scout Eugene Hankerson, "Smith has a great base to build on, he looks like a tight end with long arms to boot. Was outstanding in the 1 on 1's, at the end of the day, there were few who wanted to challenge Smith. Great potential. Donovan is outstanding on the defensive side of the ball as well. Look for Owings Mills to turn the corner this season. Smith is garnering interest from Alabama,Michigan,UCLA,West Virginia and Maryland.

Good to hear. I have heard Smith is a real good lineman. He probably hasn't got the recognition in the area he deserves playing for a rebuilding program.

It's nice to see positive news coming out of the Owings Mills program after some rough years. Hopefully Owings Mills can continue their improvement from last year.

Yeah its a shame that he has to go 1200 miles away to the State of Texas to get recognized. Had he played at Gilman, Mcdonogh or any other football hot bed this probably would have been covered better. Barry Every of Rivals.com is calling him possibly the best lineman in the State of MD.

5'10 250 Dan Yarborough (Calvert Hall)
    6'4 225 Sean Reaver (Catoctin)
    6'3 220 Brady Ridenour (Catoctin)

boys latin will have the Best Tackle combo in the state with Marco Jones and Greg Pyke. Marco has an offer from Maryland, with more coming, and Pyke will be a national recruit in 2011 and probably some offers coming soon.

    Their Highlights.

I would have to disagree on that one,

For 2011 the Best Tackle Combo is Cyrus Kouandjio 6-7, Kelby Johnson 6-8, from DeMatha. Smith is just as good as either, but does not have an equal bookend on the other side.

For 2012 The Best Tackle Combo is Ryan Watson 6-4, Michael Madaras 6-6 from Good Counsel. Since these two guy's are only sophomores they will grow and get better which is amazing with the skill they already possess.

Just wanted to add that Rico Webb 6-8 290lbs, will most likely play inside next year, and at Tackle his Senior year. DeMatha will have the largest offensive line in the State next year again. With the two above, added to Webb.

Yeah I have to agree with you on this one as well. The Boy's Latin combo aren't even the best one in Baltimore. The combo of Hunter Gooodwin and Brian Gaia at Gilman are better as well. Both are High D1 recruits.
