I don't think anyone should be writing North County off . They are bringing back 5 starters from last year . I heard they are stack up on pitching. I mean putting them after Glen Burnie is a little bit to far fetch

How was it that Mike Williams entered Arundel school system so quick.. Seems as though he was able to get to be elgible to play baseball in a fairly quick manner.HMMMMMM. Something doesn't smell right. Leaves Howard County on a whim and enters AA county. Very FISHY and the fish stinks too.

Unfortunley when you transfer counties you get a clean slate academically.

Not sure the specific rules of high school kids transferring and neither do most people on this board.
Don't start whining. Annapolis's RB Brown transfers to Old Mill clearly to play football and folks jump up to defend the story of his parents marital situation. This kid moved, for whatever reason. I don't have a problem with either, its just the way it works now a days with high school sports

I am under the impression that he did not leave Howard County on a whim. He was in Southern Virginia for the fall and winter of 2009. Are you saying that Arundel baseball is recruiting players in Southern Virginia?

    What about it stinks?

North County Lost To Mount St Joe March 10th . 11 to 5 . Got the hitting . Needs to work on the outfield and pitching little bit more and they will be a solid team

Meade beat GB in the last inning by 1 run. NE beat Digital Harbor 22-0 earlier in the week.

Default North County vs. Calvert Hall

North County lost to Calvert Hall 5-4 in the bottom of the 7th. NC threw two freshman and a sophomore, committed three errors and hit the ball very well off some pretty good CH pitchers. Young, but good. I don't think many other teams will be getting very many scrimmages in. Bring on the regular season.

    Spalding 11
    Arundel 1

The three pitchers from Spalding that I saw yesteday looked pretty darn good. Arundel looked good though and I think will be in the hunt to be the runner up to Severna Park.

I saw that game that Arundel play Spalding
Arundel look like a little league team. They couldn't catch a fly ball if it was drop into their gloves
I know it was early in the season but I think that Arundel will finish towards the bottom in the county
I have been watch Arundel for over 25 years and they are sure not a Arundel team

I was surprize to see that Coach Hood was not on the Arundel side but is coaching for Spalding. With his knowledge of baseball and what he has learned from Coach Walter they will be a great team and one to watch this year

I think that Coach Lively will have his hands fill this year. He has very little knowledge how to coach a team.

For the transfer student he has talent tp be a good player but not this spring on the Arundel team. No good coaching to help him to turn his raw talent.

I feel sorry for the players on the team on the choice that Arundel staff made

Arundel Parent, I'm guessing Arundel looked better than a little league team and I'm pretty sure they probably can catch their fair share of fly balls. I have watched a lot of Arundel sports, not much baseball though. I know when coach Walter retired there was a question of who would succeed him. The choice boiled down to coach Hood or Coach Lively, when Lively was hired Hood decided to go elsewhere (can't blame him after being passed over) But I'm sure Arundel felt comfortable with their selection and if coach Lively had very little knowledge on how to coach I'm guessing they wouldn't have picked him.

But my point is this: This board is for score and game reports, season previews and discussion, not everyone has to drink the kool-aid of a particular school but to come on the board and make a post to just try and degrade a coach or a team isn't in the spirit of what these posts are about, if you are going to do that at least change your screen name to "Bitter Arundel Parent" so everyone knows your mindset.

Couldn't say it any better myself. This forum is for scores and positive langauge about players. Nothing should be said about coaches, and nothing bad should ever be said about players. Keep it clean and simple. A few years ago we had all the negative comments about a few certain coaches, which was disrespectful and unneeded. If you do not want to give score reports or encourgaing remarks to players please do not post.

Bernie ain't stupid. He got out when the cupboard is bare.

Give Coach Lively a few years. It is never easy to follow a legend.
