Mills is a better choice then another out of towner but I wonder if he could get out of his contract with Hearst
Funny how Bob Phillips said this when Marks was canned...
And yet ANOTHER out of towner from Boston no less "tops the list??" Are you kidding me?"We definitely want someone who wants to be a part of Baltimore and in Baltimore and committed to Baltimore -- be about Baltimore," he said. "We think that's important, and we really try to cover Baltimore sports and get very involved in the community."
Let's see we have some girl from Boston, and a guy who could not be ANY MORE Baltimore then it gets who was probably talking sports before this girl was even born vying for the job.
Does Garceau have to spell it out for Phillips in big bright letters with the suggestion of Mills? Even then that moron probably would not get it.
Boy that is a hard choice. CBS needs to get off this wet dream of having a female just for the sake of having a female, it is the dumbest thing I have ever heard especially in a market like this.
This is a blue collar, hard working town who does not take to outsiders especially on their sports radio stations. They are not filling a spot for a national show they are filling it for a BALTIMORE show and we want someone from BALTIMORE talk our LOCAL sports every day.
Are they stuck on stupid or something?
If she is hired over Mills I will never listen to the station again. Ever.
If Mills is hired I will make it a point to tune in on a regular basis, now THAT would be a good show.
Somehow I think I will not be listening again with CBS's track record in this department unfortunately.

Jennifer Royle should be Scott Garceau’s new partner (Video)

The Scott Garceau Show which holds down the drive time spot on 105.7FM The Fan weekday’s from 2p.m. till 6p.m. and is simulcast on MASN from 3p.m. till 7p.m. is still looking for a co-host to replace Anita Marks and after yesterday’s program I think they might have found her.
Joining Garceau, the always smooth Baltimore sports icon was Jennifer Royle who is a nationally known and respected baseball writer and broadcaster for the YES Network in New York as well as a columnist for MLB.com.
Yesterday the duo of Garceau and Royle seemed to complement each other quite well. She was knowledgeable, entertaining and interacted well with both the callers and Garceau.
For his part Garceau seemed quite comfortable with Royle and the two put on a very enjoyable radio show. Royle’s style is smooth, with a sense of humor and a willingness to admit that while she is new to Baltimore that in her words “I like the way the Orioles look this season and yes I could be a fan.”
If the powers that be want to replace Marks with another woman then they would be hard pressed to find a better replacement than Royle. Her style seems to compliment Garceau’s better than Marks did in large part because Royal seems to be “born to be mild.” She is grounded in facts and quite entertaining.
Marks was outspoken and often debated Garceau - in a good natured way. Those sparks in many ways helped fuel the ratings and the show.
But Royle could be the change-up that is what CBS wants. We shall indeed see how it plays out.
If you missed Royle with Garceau I recomend that you give them a listen today and see what you think.
The station could still want to stay local and fill the slot in house and there are a number of candidates that have done well in fill in roles.
There is also a rumor out there that I will call to your attention and let me be perfectly clear here it is just local radio people talking. The rumor is that Keith Mills who is at WBAL could be a target as Garceau’s partner putting together two of Baltimore’s most loved and respected sports broadcasters.
Heard her on air, don't watch the MASN show. Pretty funny they'd repeat the exact same formula that failed: "hot" sports chick with out-of-town interests. That's not fair to her, of course, but on the surface that's what it sounds like. I've heard her two or three times on the station and the talk really gravitated to the Yankees. You can tell she has a lot more knowledge than her predecessor, and is a lot less whiney, but the Yankee thing was irksome. She deserves time to learn the local market and make her mark in local talk. So I'll leave it at that. It's interesting Garceau mentions Mills, since there is no one in town who comes close to Mills when it comes to local knowledge.
Yeah, who cares what a radio personality looks like? Keith Mills is the right choice here. He and Garceau make a great team.
I like her but the constant talking about her experiences with the Yankees and Sox drives me freakin nuts. This is Baltimore honey.
In regards to Keith Mills, I like him but it's hard to listen to his Baltimore accent for more than 2 minutes straight. Him and Garceau wouldn't work IMO.
Carrie Prejean is the best choice cause she has the Boller connection to Baltimore. for those of you who don't get it,this is a joke-but Carrie is hotter than Anita.
Funny how true these original posts were.
Jen Royle has some serious mental problems. Just read her twitter feed, the woman is bats#$% crazy and is obsessed with taking shots at Baltimore. She is a disturbed, troubled person.
It is almost incomprehensible that someone would even hire her(oh that's right she is currently unemployed), she is not all there.

There was even a thread on Oriole Hangout dedicated to it because it was so ridiculous....

how does she not see that this anger is hurting her career? I agree that some people whenever the line with the sexual comments. but she would be far better served to just ban them rather than attack an entire city and fan base
Tweeted today:
Why would the fan give that woman the time of day?Jen Royle @Jen_Royle
For those of you who miss me in Baltimore, I'll be talking Red Sox-Orioles on 105.7 The Fan next week. Stay tuned for time!
