Default The Box - very underrated movie.

I watched this the other day, not expecting much, but just something to kill some time with. It didn't get reviewed well, only got 6.0 on IMDB as well.

This was done by the guy that did Donnie Darko, another movie which people either loved or hated, and this movie, much like Darko, is very elaborate, with alot of "things are not what they seem" moments thoughout. If you like your movies to do all your thinking for you, or get easily confused, then you'll be one of those that probably hates it. If you like a movie that makes you keep thinking about it long after it's over, then this is for you.

    SPOILERS AHEAD:

The main premise of this movie is an interesting tie in between religion, and an extraterrestrial presence. The movie is VERY Xfiles like, with government consipracies abound, and a sense of uneasiness because the alien is able to take over people's bodies. I got the feeling that the movie's basic premise was that we were at judgement day, but that our "god" was really Martian. There are lot of things that are shown that are biblical references being explained. The ending might leave some feeling like too many questions are unanswered, but actually it pretty much answers everything, just in a subtle way at times. Acting is excellent thoughout.

Weird little movie but I enjoyed it. I've had a Red Box quality copy for about 60days now.

Nice flick ... almost reminded me of Hell Raiser (original) & that flick with the fallen Angels (can't remember the title off hand), mixed together.

Anywho ... never solve the strange Rubik's Cube.

Based on a story by Richard Matheson, who wrote a lot of Twilight Zone episodes.

He's a master of the short story. Quite a few are now collected into paperbacks. I highly recommend them!

Haha I just watched this movie. Talk about confusing and the ending really didn't answer my questions either. I like plots that make you think, but this was a bit too much. I give it 2.5 stars out of 5.
