Default SPORTS: Today's water cooler question: Impressive Orioles

Sports fans love to talk about sports — especially here in Baltimore — so we’d like to give our readers with sports-savvy an opportunity to rant and rave about what’s going on in the world of sports, both locally and nationally. Each weekday, we’ll pose a new question for you to discuss at the water cooler. Here’s your chance to be an armchair quarterback. Now speak up, play nice and let us know what you think. Your answers could be included in the next issue of b!

Today’s topic at the water cooler:

Which O's player has impressed you the most so far?

Matt Weiters! He is batting .500 and is on the verge of becoming the best catcher in baseball.

by on the verge, are you hoping for some career ending injury to Mauer? No WAY Weiters is EVER better than Mauer

I agree it's doubtful, but to say no way is pretty foolish. He has insane minor league numbers. He's hitting something like .350 over his past 40 major league games, or something like that. He's very, very good already, and this is his first full season.

Again, he might not turn out as good as Mauer, but I wouldn't dismiss it enitirely.

I agree. It's gotta be Matt Wieters. When I went to the games on Friday and Saturday, his batting average was so high and I didn't really expect him to maintain it, but he has. It's pretty impressive.
