The both were done after that, and another sub came into the starters spot. I never even considered that option before! Actually, I didn't think you COULD do that. Apparently, I was wrong!
I've always used the DP/Flex, but I've learned a lot from watching how effectively the Michigan coaches use it. A lot of folks just use it like a DH and totally miss out on the flexibility it can give you. With two pitchers on my high school team it's a no brainier to get the other one off the field to warm up without using a defensive sub. The biggest problem I've had is when the home plate umpire doesn't understand the rule, but I've always lucked out and when that happened the field umpire understood it and straightened things out. Another thing that a lot of high school and travel coaches seem to forget is that their subs have reentry too. You can't do that in the NCAA, but for the rest of us both starters and subs have to come out for the second time before they are out for good. You mix that with the DP/Flex rule and you can mess up some score books!

    Congrats to Kerry.

I got a kick out of the quote about the team "The Terrapins have won 14 of their last 15 non-conference games." That's a good spin to put on the season.

Seems that way - but it's actually only been five years (she took a redshirt to play for Canada in the Olympics.)

(I originally had some snide joke about the exchange rate - one Canadian year = 1.75 US years or something - until I looked up the US/Canada exchange rate. YIKES! Blew that one out of the water. )

Didn't USA play Canada right after the WCWS? If I remember Lawrie was in the dugout...had she gotten knocked out or was she just not pitching?

In the June 7th tuneup game (part of the Bound 4 Beijing tour), she relieved and pitched 2 2/3. She gave up 3 hits, 5 runs (all earned) and 5 walks while striking out 1.
She didn't pitch in the Olympic game between the US and Canada.

    Towson over Maryland 1-0 !!!
The game has been over for 40 minutes and the Maryland Coach still has her team huddled out in Right Field.
Heard a MD Player say after the game ... "I guess this means we won't get dinner tonight" !!! lmao.

Except for the 5 or 6 overzealous mom's who post 90% of softball related posts on the college and high school folders, nobody cares about girl's softball.

Between the small group of you, there are what, like 9000 posts on "fastpitch softball". That's close to half the number of posts the Ravens have. That's just too pathetic.

"The Real Truf" - You got a screw loose with all the posts you make on here. Stop living through your daughter, or other people's kids. Get a freekin' life, you loser.
