So much for the claims that her death would be left uninvestigated. Wiz - I think that you were one of those making the claim.

The maryland court of appeals will find a way to free the killer.
I wonder how much this announcement had to do with the lead detective on the case getting suspended yesterday
Probably a lot...
Agreed. Damn that fool for going off like that as a personal vendetta, without thinking about how getting caught might give ammo to Ms. Barnes' killers defense team, and just about all the cases he's primarily involved with.
Hopefully, this is the right guy, and morons like him often leave an obvious trail, but what took so long? No doubt her killer has a long history of crime, but his name makes him difficult to pinpoint on the case search.
No, just that it wouldn't be given the same priority or treatment as if she were a white girl partying down and slutting it up in Aruba. Eventually Nancy Grace did relent and devote about 15 minutes to her case. That's not the full hour, day after day and week after week missing white girls get. While the saying "if your brown you might never be found" can be an unfortunate truth. The saying is not of my creation. I'm very glad too see that being turned around in this case and hopefully many others as well.
It just a shame any of this happened. Because Phylicia seemed to be a pretty girl with a future every bit as bright as her smile.
I wonder when MOM will sign Phylicia's Law? I guess the family of Phylicia have to contribute to the MOM Retirement fund (Group) to get any action like the Casino's, who MOM is pushing a special session for to increase Slots to table games.
about time .......
what a shame, beautiful young intelligent girl killed in the prime of her life ......
another case that calls out for the death penalty after the accused gets his day in court ........
I hope they find out she wasn't killed in the city so they have a shot at the death penalty ......
Another promising life snuffed by the YBM.
How do you know I don't care?
Lesson in all these types of cases...
...be careful who you hook up with
If we are going to get into this whiny business we might as well state:
A. If you are male and poor (of any race ) and you go missing , no one cares, regardless of how "photogenic" you are.
B. If you are female and poor , you MIGHT get coverage but only if you are cute.
C. It's best to be rich or upper middle class. Preferrably one should live in a "safe" area (not the cities cuz no one cares and its expected).
D. You better not be fat if you are a girl or, once again, no one will plaster you all over the place.
Yeah, all this is messed up, but it is how it is.
This is not cool.
You don't know that this guy is guilty, and legally he's innocent until proven so. You just wish he is guilty because then the case would be "solved".
I HOPE he's the guy who did it and I HOPE they find him guilty if so and even give him the death penalty. I also hope they focus on his girlfriend (the sis) and why she was apparently covering for him.
But more importantly, I hope for a fair trial and not another "trial by media" as is going on in the Zimmerman case.
You've been here since 2005 and obviously haven't learned a damned thing about me. I came on this board in 1999 arguing that the execution style shooting by police of "Phat Herb" who was an, ahem, "florist" was murder. Some might say he was unattractive with a limited future. But I cared. That was before the "keep it civil" memo when did what I like to call bareknuckle debating. There were about 15 cops on this board and every one of them on my arse and every word in that debate. I would not relent. I just kept coming back for more abuse. I ate abuse for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
You can accuse me of a lot of things. Not caring will NEVER be one of them. You might not know better. But after 13 years here everyone else does.
