Although I haven't changed my views about the corrosive effects of the intense hatred permeating our politics these days, particularly from the right, this well written piece made me rethink how I look at the shooter. He was crazy, period. It's too bad it was so easy for him to get his hands on a gun.

I fully expect Holder and Obama to propose "assault weapons" bans based off of this.

It might not happen depending on the make up of the House but that's only if they suddenly grow a set and push that back.

In retrospect, certainly. I don't have any particular passion for gun control or gun rights issues. Certainly a waiting period is reasonable for semiautomatic weapons.

Fact: There is mentally unstable people.

Your solution to that is toning down the rhetoric (only the right I'm sure) thus thus limiting free speech. We don't want to "push them" towards violence. It's not the shooters fault. He was pushed to it by evil vitriol and was just a sick person.
