    Thanks to KLynch, great narrative.

Old Mill easy wins, something like 49-20.

Old Mill STEAMROLLED the Comets... Patriots lead 14-7 midway thru the 2nd quarter. In the blink of an eye, Chesson rambled off 3 more TDs in the last 4 minutes of the quarter and the Patriots lead 34-7 at the half. Catonsville looked like they wanted to get on the bus and leave at that point and who can blame them? Comets attempt an on-sides kick to start the 2nd half. Unfortunately, the kick only went about 3 yds giving the Patriots a short field to work with. Not a good scenario considering the way the Old Mill running game was working. Once again, Chesson rolled around the right side for TD #6. Game was over for all practical purposes after 20 minutes of play.

Old Mill must be awesome this year. The Comets absolutely destroyed everyone in their path this year.

The Comets are a terrific team but the Pats are just that much better. The back is something special because no one does that to the Comets but this kid did. Thanks for a great season Comets. I have never seen a community rally around a high school team like they did for the boys. It was nice to see people stop talking about the Ravens and start talking about the real local stars at the neighborhood high school.

From what I saw, I have to agree. Comets appeared to have plenty of talent, they were just overmatched. Catonsville faithful showed up in droves! Even when the game was clearly out of hand, they remained positive and continued to cheer loudly in support of their team. First time I've ever seen Catonsville play, but I have to say I was impressed with their enthusiasm!

Does Old Mill ever play or even scrimmage any powerhouse teams? They're less than a mile from Spalding and close to several other MIAA schools but didn't even play publics outside the county until the tournament.

It would be nice to see how they would fare against better competition. Maxpreps has them @ #4 in the state behind only GC, Gilman and Calvert Hall. I think they've convinced the publics but dare we think they could compete against some of the best teams money can buy (MIAA)?

Old Mill scrimmaged in the past few years:

    Calvert Hall
    Poly
    Edmondson
    DeMatha
    Hereford
    Mt. St. Joe
    Urbana
    Poly
    Spalding

You can't play out of county schools in AACO. The schedule is made by the county.

The top 4 public schools (including Old Mill) would hold their own against any school Public or Private in MD. However, I don't think any of these teams could beat Good Counsel. Although, we will never know until they play.

Spalding in a game style and played pretty much even. Hard to tell in a scrimmage.

I know they went to the Calvert Hall scrimmage but don't know who they played or how they did. It is a 10 play series type of thing and sometimes it's the #2s in.

Last year they did very well vs Calvert Hall in their scrimmage but got smacked around by Mt. St. Joe. Again scrimmages don't tell very much.
