Default How Would You Go About Creating A World-Class BLT?

Yes, I wish to build a perfect bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich.

I want your secrets. The nitty gritty details. Brand of mayo, degree of toastage of what kind of bread, etc, etc.

    TYIA.

I for one would never contaminate yummy bacon by putting it near lettuce or tomato!

I don't think so. This is British back bacon, and when cooked in in a butty. We do have similar bacon to you over here, it is known as streaky bacon.

With the greatest respect, I'd rather just have two bacon sandwiches (I like to taste the bacon), life's too short for all that malarkey.

two things: Eastern Shore tomatoes or real garden-grown tomatoes with a little sprinkle of black pepper on them and bacon cooked well and crunchy. The rest is up to you!

Fresh white bread - not toasted.
    Crisp applewood smoked bacon.
    Tomato fresh from my garden.
    Crisp iceberg lettuce.
    Miracle Whip.

A bag of Utz potato chips and an ice cold coke are also essential.

Toasted bakery type or homemade white bread
    Mars mayonnaise
    Peppered thick sliced bacon
Home grown or real tomatoes from a local farm
Leaf type lettuce of your choice (no tasteless iceberg stuff)
Optional, spring onions (scallions) thinly sliced lengthwise

I believe I approached perfection with:

    lightly toasted sourdough
    freshest tomato I could find
    hickory smoked bacon
    iceberg lettuce
miracle whip on both pieces of bread
    stacking order tomato/bacon/lettuce

the only thing I would change in the future is the bread. while it was quite delicious, the crust was a bit hard on the mouth. next time I'll go with a more forgiving white bread.

sides of utz ripple chips and claussen dill pickle 1/4s
