Default Shameless liberal lie scare tactics re: Birth Control

    https://secure.prochoiceamerica.org/...Action&id=5133

LIberals only can lie, they have no logical arguments, so they are lying, saying that republicans will "take away birth control" from women.

So now a right to something to a liberal means "at no cost to me". So if something isn't "free" it is being "taken away"

    Shameless, filthy liars.

Funny how I have to pay for toothpaste, despite it being necessary for dental health, which heavily impacts general health. Because it's not free, is it being taken away from me?

Really? Liberals are incapable of telling the truth or arguing logically? Oh, the irony is just too much to handle.

betamanlet does have a rather interesting and controversial way of getting his message out. I'll admit that.

But he's right on this one. Liberals are lying about birth control. I have heard Liberals say Republicans want to take birth control away which is a blatant lie. Liberals (and anyone else) can have all the birth control they want. They just need to pay for it themselves.

It costs about $1 a piece and is readily available EVERYWHERE.

Its not a total lie, as some conservatives do want to take it away. Some see the morning after pill as birth control while others see it as abortion. The problem here is that both sides are painting with a wide brush to make it sound like EVERYONE on the other side is out to get them, when really it is a small minority on both sides.

Do you understand that it is hormonal birth control that many on the right would like to restrict?

I understand as with everything there are details that need to be worked out. I'm opposed to paying for birth control in regards to just sex. Any other issues related to health certainly can be worked out and discussed.

But how do you determine if and when a prescribed medication is for "just sex"?

Not everyone (me, for example) can take BCPs. My Mirena IUD most certainly cost more than $1 and has completely resolved my endometriosis at the same time as providing me with birth control. It isn't as simple or as cookie cutter as you'd like to make it.

Beta manlet- I wonder if Catholic organizations will stop covering in vitro fertilization and vasectomies since that is a sin in the Catholic Church's eyes.

Stop covering? They never did. At least IVF. Even though coverage is mandated in Maryland, religious employers are exempt. My wife worked at a Catholic hospital and didn't get any coverage. Late last year she finally found a new job at another hospital that does cover IVF, only to watch them slash those benefits at the beginning of the year.

On the other hand, the same Catholic hospital did cover birth control for her medical needs. Maybe they're the exception in that regard, I don't know.
