I just don't get it. With all the brilliant minds in the world,and the need for conservation. How is it that we can't use the technology we see in the Volt and the use of Hybrid technology in the Honda and Toyota,combine or tweak it. Than use it to make a car run on battery until the battery has about 20% left of life, gas kick in and recharge the battery in a short period of time and the car go back to battery with a full charge. No need to use in city or hwy but the battery stays active until it only has 20% life left. I would think this is not that hard to invent.The best part is the need for gas consumption is lowered by over 70%.

Do any of you think this is possible?
