But at the end of the day, there is only one perfect place for Manning. And as far as anyone knows, this team has stubbornly refused to enter the Manning Sweepstakes.

Peyton’s perfect place is a team that:

• Has been desperately seeking a QB for its entire history.

• Becomes the instant undisputed No. 1 Super Bowl favorite if it acquires Manning.

• And would pair Manning with a legit No. 1 Super Bowl-caliber D for the first time in the quarterback’s career.

But there’s one problem. This team’s management must first admit it has a QB problem.

I'll respectfully disagree with that opinion. Manning behind the Raven's O-line with the Ravens WRs and the Ravens OC wouldn't do any better than Joe Flacco has done, if he'd even able to do as well. (I can just imagine the fireworks on the sideline if Cameron went over to Manning and yelled at him for checking away from a play that Cameron had called.)

Plus, it would totally screw up the cap. Pass on Manning.

Everybody is assuming Peyton Manning is healthy. That has yet to be proven by a long shot.

rest assured that if we don't win a superbowl in the next 5 years folks will be talking about how we should have signed him .....

we already should have more than 1 but don't because of the offense and in 10 years from now if we don't have another ring history will write the story of we should have had several if we just had a qb .....

One hit could end a career or even more. I would not want to be the player responsible for the hit or the one giving the hit. I would not want to be the owner who said the most important thing is can he play, they only care about the W and not the athlete.

a drop pass by a receiver is not the QB's fault. If Manning would have thrown that pass and Evans dropped it. Would that not be the same. Manning has one ring. How could he have made the difference in that playoff game. Joe was excellent in the game.

1. I would be very surprised if Manning does much over the next years. In fact, I'd be surprised if he even plays for 5 more years.

2. If the Ravens don't win another Super Bowl, I seriously doubt it will be because of Joe Flacco. The OC, if it's still Cam Cameron? Definitely. The O-line, unless it improves? Definitely. The questionable game management, unless it improves? Yes. But Joe? No.

I disagree about the cap. If Manning's words are true, he might end up better for the Raven's cap situation than Flacco. If he takes less guaranteed money against the cap, it would free up money that could be used to keep Grubbs, or pay someone else to come here. I do agree with Cameron being a disaster with Peyton though. But then, he is a disaster with anyone. He is so overrated as an OC, and the Ravens brought him back. I can't figure that one out.

Any football player is one hit away from ending their career. All the medical experts have said the Manning's injury puts him at no greater of a risk than he was before. In fact, the doctors have said the area of his neck that was fused together is actually stronger than it was before. The question that every team considering him needs to ask is whether the nerves have regenerated enough to bring back the strength in his throwing arm.

I think the question of Manning being considered by either the Ravens or the Texans is a fair one. If Manning is healthy, even at 36 he is only equaled possibly by Brady, Rogers and Brees. He is clearly an upgrade to every other team, including the Ravens. His quick release, quick read of defenses, and game management are unparalleled. I think any team that thinks it is a legitimate playoff team would be foolish to at least not consider it. The biggest question for the Ravens would be that if you think Manning is the piece to get you over the hump, are you willing to trade your future after the next 4 years for that shot. I don't personally expect them to do it, nor do I really think they should, but there are some interesting thoughts to ponder about it. Including the fact that you could have an inside track to Reggie Wayne which would solidify the receiving corp, and a trade of Flacco should at least bring a number 2 draft pick that could help the team as well. The truth of the matter is that even if the Ravens are considering it, we likely wouldn't know until he signed. Ozzy and company play these things very close to the vest. They don't usually roll out the red carpet and make a big deal about things until they are in the bag. If nothing else, it is fun speculation during the offseason.

Wow you are taking the word of some second rate writer who also wrote an article the other day about how Peyton shouldn't come back because his career won't end well.
