Who are the favorites to win this year?
Way too early for this, but I'll bite... Harford Tech girls, while not as strong as years past, have to still be the favorite. Boys will be wide open, but I think this might be the first year in the past 4 that will feature a boys champion from Harford County.

2 things...
1. How do you earn 7 points in a running event?
2. How long did that take you?
Not a bad starting place though...
Perryville girls and Aberdeen's boys will score alot better than that though I think.
I think the Sun does the UCBAC wrong when they do not mention Willie Austin and Jimmia McCluskey for athletes to watch. I think someone is not doing their job.
The sun doesn't care alot about the ucbac because cecil is in the league, and they don't cover that area.
The one to watch is the girl from Perryville, she maybe the best thing the ucbac has 2 indoor titles, and a state xc title. Only a sophmore.
Those results are from last year alot goes into a new year. New kids, old kids don't come out, new coaches, etc.
I heard that Brandon Chase ran a 49 400 on yesterday. That's what's up! I remember hearing a coach tell me there would never be a 49 quarter runner in Harford County..... Well..... I am glad for the kid if this is true.
Congrats to him, but from all of my years of watching meets league meet times seem very unreliable. I went to the meet at Bel Air on Tuesday and they used the wrong starting line for 1 relay and the 400 meter dash. My other question is why have the meets begun to take so long? It used to be a 2 to maybe 3 hour meet. I left Bel Air at 7 and they were still going. I plan on going to CMW on Monday, they always seem to run their meets a little quicker.
That's because they are putting four and five teams in a meet. That is simply ridiculous but the coaches do not want to have three meets in a week (including invitationals). Plus, Bel Air's coaching staff are somewhat new and I do understand that. But, we are now running mini invitationals with that amount of teams.
Read online Chase ran 53. Also saw on running maryland that there is a relay meet at cmw tomorrow.
Something is fishy about this mystery ""49" 400... it originally appeared in the published results as a 53, then it miraculously showed up as a 49.00 with automatic timing on athletic.net, now its a 49.70A on athletic.net. Also shows a 22.00A for the same kid. Division meets are right around the corner, we'll get to the bottom of this!
Anyone who has worked with this kid knows of Brandon's potential. I was hearing about him when he ran for the Joppatowne Road Runners. He was running 52 second 400's when he was in 7th/8th grade. I think it is a legitimate time. I just hope he does not burn out when before May.
The real question is how the break affected teams, and how did anyone lose anyone to grades?
Tomorrow's divisional championships should be interesting. I think for the Chesapeake Perryville girls and CMWright girls should battle and Perryville's boys should win. In the Susquehanna, I think Aberdeen's girls should with Edgewood behind them. In the boys, I think Edgewood may end up winning with Aberdeen's boys behind them.
I think you've got it pretty well nailed down Terror. Does anybody know what in the world happened at Bel Air with Aberdeen's boys 4x1??? Time on athletic.net says 41.44c!!! Did they start on the 4x2 line in lane 8 or something???
I wouldn't count on the cmw girls or boys doing anything word I got from my neighbor was that they cut them down to 1 bus, and they decided to leave the distance kids home except for 1 or 2. Coaches said they would not put over 60 high school kids on 1 bus. So much for the division meets meaning anything. Teams can't bring their whole squad and I believe last year Aberdeen didn't even run in it. I have never understood why they run a divisional meet anyway.
I agree with you concerning the divisional meet. You do want it to mean something but it is always the timing of the meet which seems to be an issue. That's ridiculous that CMWright could not get a second bus for their team. It wasn't like the meet was outside the county. Track gets disrespected because it is not a major money maker.
