[QUOTE=Bartman;7971669]Older machines are turned back in to IGT, WMS, Atronic and the other manufacturers for a credit, they get refurbed and sent to other markets. Europe, Asia, South America, Middle East, Australia, wherever.QUOTE]
Bartman, they sure don't send them Downunder. Even the machines in Vegas aren't as animated as the ones at home. Also, Aristocrat an Aussie company make most of the machines in Australia.
To update...as if y'all didn't already know...
MD Live! will remove approximately 10% of the VLT's to make room for 150 table games. That equals out to about 475 machines, to include some of the electronic table games, from what I understand.
A poker room will also be added in the future.
People who complain about gambling are like people who don't attend pro sporting events and don't want other people to attend.
If you find gambling a rip off, don't go. Having said that, of course it is a rip off, very few people win.
I did finally realize that for many people who lose their money gambling, is that they often looking at it as a form of entertainment.
If you go to the movies, take a cruise and so forth, at the end of the journey, you have nothing to show for it, except the entertainment aspect. Some gamblers see it the same way.
Look, If you can't or shouldn't Afford to Play, well then you just shouldn't! If you aren't Smart enough to Not spend money on Anything you can't afford, I can't help you.
As far as those who just call Gambling Stupid, well what do you spend Your money on that someone else might call Stupid? A Boat, hundreds on Golf or Tennis or Skiiing equipment? Got a old Muscle Car or maybe a Chopper that you almost Broke yourself fixing up? Maybe your whole basement is crammed with a huge Model Train layout. Maybe you have Loads of Idiot Collector Plates or shelves full of your precious Knick Knacks.
What I'm saying is everyone has something they enjoy in their Leisure Time. At 60, I'm sure not the Sporting type. Not Outdoorsy either after spending the last 40 years Outside Year Round on the Docks and in Rail Yards. I enjoy the Indoor Sports now. Unfortunately I can't get younger Gals anymore so.... What I enjoy, not ALL the time but when I can get away, is sitting at a Table in AC or LV playing Pai-Gow Poker, Mini-Bac, maybe some Roulette and yes a few Slots or Video Poker here and there. I have been in Every place in AC and all but some of the smaller Off-Strip places in LV. I drive all over out there, No Problem! I can guarantee that I Won't be playing here in MD. I checked out Perryville and wasn't impressed. I'll stick with the Real Casinos in AC & LV, I'll be out in LV, AGAIN, the week before Xmas, HO HO HO!!!
