Welcome to the B1G, Danny.
On Wisconsin... http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...QigS_blog.html
He should've looked longer @ Stanford.....not sure when he crossed them off. Would've been perfect to follow in AL's footprints. But I guess he is going where he figures he can get the most PT.
Danny was quoted in this mornining's Washington Post as saying that going to the NFL is a big dream of his....that said, Bielema mentioned to O'Brien that Wisconisn has recently put more of their players in the NFL than any other college team (of late). 14 from last year's classs, alone. No idea if that's true, but that's what Bret said.
Not sure who Stanford has this year in terms of offensive line and receivers...but without a solid core, even a good QB is only going to look average.
besides, Danny is from Minny.![]()
Stanford still has a pretty solid OL and receiving corps (arguably the best TE group in the nation), but they also have 4 guys already on campus fighting to replace Luck (inlc. two 4-star recruits), so maybe he wanted better odds at winning the QB1 job.
Interesting read -
http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports...WhS_story.html
"Bielema said that he has made no promises to O’Brien about starting this fall. The Badgers are down to two healthy quarterbacks in spring practice, Joel Stave and Joe Brennan, and highly touted incoming freshman Bart Houston will still be rehabbing from arm surgery next fall.
One of Bielema’s selling points to O’Brien occurred during O’Brien’s 48-hour weekend trip to Madison with his parents. Bielema envisioned a 2013 depth chart that could feature nine other seniors on offense and eight seniors on defense, making the Badgers contenders for the Bowl Championship Series title.
"Now O'Brien's looking forward to life behind one of the biggest and best offensive lines in college football.
"You hear how big these guys are, but until you see them practice, it doesn't do them justice," O'Brien said.
One of O’Brien’s longtime goals has been to play in the NFL. Bielema emphasized to O’Brien that last season there were 14 rookies on NFL rosters from Wisconsin, which he said represented the highest number in the country. And he said that this season he expects as many as 16 on NFL rosters."

No doubt - WI's OL is the standard bearer in college football right now and is bigger than most NFL OLs. I wasn't comparing Stanford's OL to Wisconsin's, although it isn't too shabby either with 2 projected 1st round picks in this year's draft.
good luck danny ......
sorry, even with you aboard I can't root for wisconsin ......
