He can politic all he wants however Ozzie will only pay him what his true value is currently. So no sweat. His agent wouldn't be worth his hiring if he didn't have Joe openly solicit for a the warranted contract. He will probably be placed around top 6 or 7 per his stats. Incentives if he reaches the superbowl and one for if he wins. Stats be damned.

I have no problem with Joe saying that he is a #1 QB. Just yinz continue finding ways not to get to the Super Bowl. LOL

I'm not sure if he is politicking...listening to the conversation, it sounded like he was just answering questions.

Flacco obviously doesn't have the Ray Lewis filter when it comes to speaking with the media. However, the matter-of-fact nature of his comments indicate a high level of confidence - confidence that will serve the team well.

Finally, players know that the business is a business. Reminds me of the old Saturday Evening Post painting by Larry Thrasher of the shopkeeper pressing down on the scale while the lady shopper is pushing up at the same time... Ozzie and the FO have their job to do and the agents have theirs too.

This here. I'd be disappointed if he didn't say it.

13-5, a dropped pass away from the Super Bowl.

I'd say it worked out well. Better than 28 other teams.

How did your confidence that they'd finish 6-10 work out?

Very confident and by all accounts thrilled and excited to wear the Horseshoe.

I predict him/us to hit the ground running....10-6 in 2012.

Flacco won his first two playoff games on the road as a rookie. Don't see Luck doing this. Maybe Luck with have the "it" factor as you say like Matt Ryan and his 0-3 playoff record.

What am I saying, Indy won't be anywhere near the postseason.

At least when Eli said last year he was Elite, Eli already had a SB ring. Joe is a top 10 QB, but NOT a top 5. In an odd way I think Joe is trying to put pressure on himself (and Cam C.). Eli and Joe play this season and I think Eli will explain Elite to Joe.

    1. A. Rogers
    2. T. Brady
    3. D. Brees
    4. P. Manning
    5. E. Manning
    6. P. Rivers
    7. B. Rothlisberger
    8. M. Stafford
    9. C Newton
    10. JOE FLACCO

I'm a RAVENS fan to the end. Joe is top 10, NOT TOP 5.

Joe makes better decision then Newton and Rivers, but speaking of the position of QB, they are better in their own ways. You can thenks the great Cam Cameron for holding Joe back. Imaging if he let the reins loose and let Joe loose, like Carolina let a Rookie QB go. 4000 yards, but a lot of Int's, just like Rivers an experience QB. Flacco may have a better team then Newton, but he is NOT a better QB. Only thing Flacco has on Cam is experience.

    Ryan
    Culter
    Vick

These are three guys you can all but undisputably say are better. Best case scenario....ABSOLUTE best.....he MIGHT be top 15 or so. MIGHT be. But then you factor in guys you can easily make a case for (Sanchise/Tebow/Dalton/Romo/Smith etc) as well the two cracker jack rookies coming in....he's teetering right around if not outside T20.

Joe Flacco - QB - Ravens

A league source tells Profootballtalk.com that there ''hasn’t even been a meeting'' regarding Joe Flacco’s contract since the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
An earlier report suggested the Ravens were making ''no progress'' in long-term negotiations with Flacco, so it's possible there haven't been any face-to-face talks since February. Flacco, 27, is set to earn $6.76 million in the final year of his rookie deal. He is expected to be seeking top-five quarterback money.

Aaron Wilson says otherwise, from his twitter page:

League source with direct knowledge of talks said there have two face-to face meetings between Joe Flacco's agent and Ravens since combine.

Don't listen to Pro football talk, Aaron Wilson has a good read on the situation and he says that things should get finalized by the beginning of training camp. They are in the rough stages of negotiations so it's not a shock that nothing hasn't happened yet. I'm begging you and everyone else on this board (including you chrisbraven) to rely on Aaron Wilson, don't be drawn in by the knuckleheads in the national media (Mike Florio etc...).

I tend to listen to a voice of reason. So I will listen to some reports but may not post them without using alittle more forethought in my comments/speculations. I value almost everyones opinions, news results, and stats observations. Notice I'm including you in the selected ones. Even when I'm wrong which may be the case far too many times I still am able to digress, admit my faults, and still maintain a level of comfort with getting good info from my fellow posters. Numbers dogma could never be evaluated as his bias and miss-information runs contrary to normal thinking or co-existence. If I make similar mistakes plz call my attention to it. As it helps me/use to be better informed and on topic throughout the process we like to discuss. Thx and may every true Ravens fan/family have a blessed year.

Not you Numbers........................Just Kidding. That includes Numbers...

I dunno why everyone is so blind to think Evans Dropped the ball and it wasn't stripped. Which wasn't Joe's fault........

One or two plays away from the SB...outplayed Brady...

    9-1 against playoff teams

    10-1 against top 10 defenses

...with new receivers to learn and no offseason in which to do it.

Much better than could have been anticipated...

Nice try, Petunia, but you come up short again!
