    Pie released by Indians

The Indians announced Wednesday that they released Felix Pie.

Analysis: Pie was once a burgeoning prospect, but he's been a disappointing MLB player. He's at the point of his career where he is just organizational depth and can be ignored in Fantasy.
    Indians released OF Felix Pie.

    Indians released OF Felix Pie.

Impacts: Pie batted .303 (10-for-33) with one double, one triple and four RBI this spring, but it wasn't enough to snag a bench spot. The former top prospect will hope to latch on elsewhere.

The Indians must be loaded. How can they possibly release a .300 plus hitter with speed and extra base power?

No...they dislike guys that can't play. Having said that.....guessing Jim's bro will scoop him up right back into the fold.

Cracks me up when teams take on our former players and release them even before a year has passed while the O's continually beat a dead horse with players. How many times did Cabrerra turn the corner. He turned the corner so many times he ended up where he started.

Took the Indians what, 6 weeks to reach the same conclusion that it took the Orioles 3 years... that Felix Pie, despite the occasional flash of enticing athleticism, is one of the least baseball savvy players to reach the majors in decades.

Reimold had better pack his bags for Norfolk again.

The Indians 25 man roster says otherwise. There are seven Latinos on the squad including Lopez, Jiminez, Gomez, Perez, Asencio, Santana and Cabrera.

Latinos play baseball and Native Americans run casinos. It's a cultural thing.

well I guess the Indians didn't need the free entertainment provided by Pie when he's on the field....

WOW! One whole more Latino than the Latino-hating Orioles:
Ayala, Strop, Paulino, Andino, Betemit, Chavez

He was certainly an entertaining fellow. That time in Boston that he threw the ball backwards was one of my favorite moments.

That incident could help Pie if the Sox sign him to try & turn him into a closer.

That and the rundown between home and first!

I worry this team won't even be funny-bad.

Yeah last season was hilarious. There was a stretch of a good 10 games in a row where Pie was constantly having me on the floor laughing so hard.

And now we probably won't get to witness Gregg blowing a 4 run lead in the 9th by walking 6 straight batters either. Hopefully if things get really bad this year they can bring Pie back for another audition.
