I always feel like the O's save their eggs adn think in one year they are going to make a boom rather than add a few pieces each year.
At that age, I think it's more about conditioning.

Palmer said on TV during the MINN series that he thinks he very well could be here this season.

Now...take that for what it's worth, he could have meant a Sept. cup of coffee. I don't see him here this year, but later next season could happen

do prospects go to AAA anymore?

it seems like they go to AA then move up to the big club. AAA seems to have become the place you put players who aren't good enough to dedicate a MLB roster spot to, but could fill in if an injury requires a quick, short term replacement.

Strasburg and now Harper have gone thru AAA. No reason for Bundy not to as well.

I think he already surpassed Hobgood's career strikeout total.

I read somewhere before he signed with the O's the team had to agree not to try to change his conditioning program, he insisted on throwing long toss which most teams don't want their pitchers doing. So he came in not listening.

To me the orioles "way" has proved to be piss poor. Im not sure how anyone can come in and want to listen to some things. If its not broke don't fix it. 9 innings is 9 innings. Younger kid is prob more conditioned and able then some of these "oriole conditioned" players.

if he's got the talent (and Palmer isn't going to make that comment unless he does) call him up in September just to see how he does. He won't be the first teenager to pitch at the majors level. If he handles the situation well and is successful, there's no reason to keep him in the minors other than money and service time...and as we know with this club, that trumps winning....

    Default The New Savior!!

I guess the newest “Savior” of the O’s has arrived. We have all seen and heard this before where a youngster the O’s draft is considered a sure thing and everyone on here is drooling over him and talking about how great he’ll be and then the kid gets the chance and it never seems to work out.

I have no doubt that the kid has some talent, obviously he wouldn’t have been drafted otherwise, and I’m sure he will dominate the minors, where very little TRUE talent reside, but we’ll see how he does when he gets to the big time.

Maybe he’s the real deal but until I see it at the MLB level for a sustained and consistent amount of time I will believe he is just the next flame out in a long line of flame outs for the O’s!!

In deed! I seem to remember them making a similiar case for their catching 'phenom' some years back.....the 'switch hitting Jesus.' I mean....he was John Bench and Roy Campanella and Carl Fisk rolled into one. And today? Seems the harsh reality is that he's more like a Mick Tellelton 2.0.

Same w/Al Bundy.....they are expecting the next Rogers Clemens.....and yet....he will likely turn out to be the next Roger Craig...old Humm Babe himself!

    Wow, great analysis.

How dare people get excited about minor league talent. I guess baseball only counts if you buy your players like the Yankees.

Should Orioles fans simply hate the team with all their heart? Or should they be loser Yankees fans who come to a Baltimore Sun board to tell everyone how much they suck?

I have to say that although I do remember people on here over hyping Wieters and comparing him to the greats of all time before he ever played a game, and obviously he hasn’t reached that level yet, I have to say that he does look like a nice player that seems to be improving each season. Will he ever reach the level of the greats?? Only time will tell but I’d take him as is right now!!

Don't you actually need to have a job before paying taxes? Do you work at the "home" or are you a resident? How's your shuffleboard game coming along?
