Hard to blame one with so little experience. But, he definitely went down to soon.

I place more blame on Hunters passive game plan.

    GAME 7
    Bruins 6
    Caps 1

    mark it down

I have to like the Bruins....they ALWAYS ATTACK..
Hard to rip Backstrom. He's the best player on the team with the puck in his own zone. Terrible play and also another terrible job by Wideman but we stunk the whole OT. Was clear all the PK's and back to back games wore us out. Game was lost with all the open nets we missed(MarJo,Ovie and others). Friend of mine summed it up best: only question Wed is do we play well and lose or play terrible and get blown out? 0 % chance of the Caps winning. They NEVER win these type games. As we love to say: GOD HATES CAPS FANS

Did not like the style we played in OT. I am one who would rather die with my gun in hand shot'n and not in its holster. Nick made two bad TO's to lose the game. Ref's sure do miss a lot of Boston stuff. Just make the correct call on the same foul both ways.

Your right....and I'm not going to bash Backstrom. Guy usually plays flawless hockey.
My point though.....if that were Ovie....the haters would be screaming at the top of their lungs.

Ok, guys, I'm a glutton for punishment just like you, and the caps might lose this game, but to me it's a coin flip, if you are so sure they will lose, then I guess you won't be watching the game. I bet both Moon and durango watch the game, cause you know they just might pull it off, both teams have had to scratch and claw for everything they have gotten, and we are 2-1 in there building, so god dammit let's go caps!!!!!!!!

Anybody that's been watching this series should know how evenly matched and how close every game has been.

In a game 7, all bets are off...both teams know what's on the line, and I expect another barn burner to go right down to the wire. Sadly (for the losing team)...it could come down to one shot, one missed assignment, or a funny deflection. Neither team is dominant...so, IMO, any team can win this game. I would not want to try and handicap this game.

I'll watch the game just because it's the last time we'll see them until October. Every longtime Caps fan knows how this ends

Not everytime, we did make it to the sc final one year, it's hard to win the cup. I understand your pesimism, I remember losing to the isles all the time, then the pens, I remember the good teams with langway, gartner and stevens, I was at the game 7, 4 ot loss when Lafontaine broke my heart, but hope is still alive, and I will still be screaming at my TV...in the words of Joe Swanson...LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sure we will watch....after all we are fans. Love the Caps. Just get frustrated because the ending seems to always be the same.

Who knows maybe it's because I'm an O's fan. Maybe 14-15 years of them losing has rubbed off on me.

As for pulling it off... I sure hope so but I'm being realistic here. I give them very little chance.

Slap. you don't think that the Bruins have carried play for the most part ?

    Here's my opinion...
Boston carried the play in games 1-4. Actually dominated the Caps at times. One reason why the games were so close. You know that answer.
    Game 5 EVEN
    Game 6 advantage Caps

Without looking at any of the stats, I would say yes. BUT, the only thing that matters is the score board, and in the W/L record. Every game (if memory serves me) has been decided by a single goal...one measly, lousy goal. Not sure if that's ever happened before in a playoff? But it's enough to tell me that these games hinge on one, or two plays. That's it.

If the Caps had not been able to beat the Bruins in Boston, then I would clearly give the edge to Boston. But the Caps have shown they can get it done away from their home ice.

As the Caps are my #2 team...my biggest concern is...no matter who advances, will they have enough physical amd mental reserve to take on the Flyers? That's a big question in my mind.

Bruins haven't carried the play. Yesterday was the first time they played with a lead so of course the Caps were the team that pressed and outshot them. Rest of series Caps have had leads and sat back and let Bos press. Caps have deserved to win this series with the superior special teams play and superior goaltending. Wideman and Schultz are the main reasons Bos is still playing. Yesterday was first goal Bos scored 5 on 5 without Wideman on the ice.

The West is set..StL vs LA and Phoenix vs Nash....I'm picking Nash for all the marbles, I thought they were playing the best hockey coming in and Renne is pretty sick.

That was a funny column. You can tell the guy writing it has been in DC for 6 years and not 30. Somewhere Tony Kornholio is digging up his annual choking dogs column he wrote for 20 April's in the Post

Anything can happen in a game 7 situation. Anything can happen in a sudden ellimination. But, then a new series begins against the Flyers, and you're back to having to win 4 games inorder over a 2 week period of open warfare. Much tougher to stay up for a 2 week battle, than it is for one game. That was my point.

Whomever survives on Wednesday night, will be spent - both emotionally and physically.

Sometimes, too much time off in the playoffs can be just as bad. I remember a few times where a team won in 4, and were then beaten by a team that had just come off a 7 game series win. Bottom line - if you're not prepared to give your best for every game in the playoffs, then you don't deserve to be there.

Here's your quality video of the day: Tim Thomas telling the story of what happened after he tripped Ovie at the All Star Game in 2009.
