With a 4 goal lead, it sure looks like the 8th seed, the LA Kings, are finally going to get their first Stanley Cup.

    Good for the Kings!

Coolest thing in Professional Team Sports:

The hoisting of the Stanley Cup by the winning team (especially at home)

    Agreed.

I also like that the Cup will get to be shared with the public, by members of the winning team. I like the fact that the Cup is more of a living thing, and does not simply reside in some dusty trophy case somehwere. It's always moving to different locations, and seen, held and touched (see my avatar) by people around the globe. It's pretty cool.

I've watched hockey since 87. Never seen a team win the first 3 games in every series. Major props to LA, that's an all time great postseason run.

Only lost a total of 4 playoff games, and only one road loss.

    Yes, pretty impressive.

Oddly, they, like the Caps, almost didn't make the playoffs, as the 8th seed. They came from way back. Hope folks here remember this should the Caps not finish their usual first or second place next season.
