Pretty ridiculous durango when you see Shanaban's video on Neal who took 2 dirty runs on the same shift and only gets a game. The league is a disgrace

Clearly, I do mean clearly the Boston bruins have targeted Nicks head. Anyone who thinks different is a fool. Just watch the video Alan May and comcast put together.

And I didn't need to see Alan Mays video to figure it out. Been saying it since game 1.

The league front office including Brendan Shanahan is just what you said AntiMoon.....but let me add one more thing.

    It's a " f...fing disgrace.
I will finish watching this year, however I just may scrap hockey.

The NHL is promoting thuggery in it's playoff format. So much for the skilled players in which Boston doesn't have many. It's all about the rough stuff.
And they know that's the ONLY chance they have of winning. Thus head hunting Backstrom. The guy got sick of it, why ? because the NHL and it's refs would not protect the hm. What would you do ? How many blows to the head has he taken ? a dozen or so....

You know.....Nick Backstrom...an NHL player with awesome skills but isn't a fighter. A player who can do amazing things with a puck but doesn't instigate anything. Well the Bruin faithful got what they wanted....

Sorry.....I'm not a fan of that type of hockey any longer

Can't they find a mix ??? How did Gretzky, Lemieux and others do it....
Why don't the Capitals have guys like Alan May or Donald Brashear to protect guys like Nick any longer. We all know the NHL won't stand up for players who can't or choose not to by into this thuggery.

I have no problem with that

I do have a problem with cheapshots. Backstroms head is out of bounds.

    Bye-bye.

I got $20 that says you'll be back when the Caps make a serious run at the SC.

Violence is, and will always remain a part of hockey.

As for aiming for the head - I agree, not cool. But the facts are....getting a SC is WAR, and players will do whatever they can get away with. If some player is coming off an injury that the opposing players might exploit...then maybe that player shouldn't be on the ice? Just the way professional sports is. Maybe the NHL should have a bounty system, like they've had in the NFL for years. Just because it's news today, and the league is clamping down...don't think for a minute that it hasn't been going on for years, and probably will continue (but at a less visible level).

Sports are violent, and hockey is one of the more violent sports out there. Love it, or leave it. But the sport isn't going to change.

FYI - one reason why hockey is the only sport that I know of to have "enforcers" on the ice....to get revenge on opposing players that consistently do dirty ***** on one of their players. It's a code. Players/teams have a way of "policing" what goes on during the game. Things will settle down. Trust me.

If your Backstrom.....what do you do ? let guys like Lucy hit you in the head repeatedly ?

Refs don't want to protect him
Caps players can't protect him....no one tough enough
NHL front office isn't protecting him..

One more blow to the head could end the guys career or god forbid something worse. Is that right. So called tough guys beating on Backstrom of all people. I call that gutless and cowardly

I know what I would do....carve em up with that stick.

agree completely. Same with diving, if you can get away with it and help you win a game why not do it?

    I get that.....

So tell me guys would it be okay with you if Backstrom took that stick of his and shoved it up Lucys a s s?

The entire hockey world would bust his balls about it.
Again what is Backstrom (not a tough guy at all) suppose to do ?
Does hockey have to be about cheapshots ?

and BTW...they get away with it because hockey picks and chooses who they let get away with it.

Now days with cameras everywhere...there's no reason to let the cheapshots go.

If Chimera and Lucy wanna go....okay let them go...

But if somebody like Lucy wants Backstrom...that's not working for me

This has been one heck of a series thus far

sad to see the refs intervene and play a huge part in it's outcome

NO WAY Backstrom should be suspended.....talk about gutless

Can't believe it. No not the Caps winning. Caps getting more PP's than Bos. That's a shocker.
