Maybe I'm missing something here but to say Fidel is an enemy to the USA is seriously wrong. Okay back in the 60's he was an allie to Russia but seriously the only thing he has done was to try and make his country better. Batista was a bad leader who stole everything from the people of Cuba. He was paid off and ran the country through bad affiliations of people. The mafia was running the country. Now at 85 what harm is Castro to the people. If the USA had opened relations back up with Cuba in the 70's the people with money here would own Condo's, many Americans would be on vacation at some resort and spring breaks would have another area to visit. The tourist industry alone would have made Cuba one of the best countries to live in. The Cuban's in Miami would all be making big money and Cuba would be Little America.

As I see it how can the USA open up relations to Vietnam, a country that we lost many lives in, a country we were separate on and divided as a whole. How can we allow truly bad dictators speak to our Universities and Colleges, allow visits to the Congress and White House and hold dinners and treat them like nothing was wrong. Yet we still see Cuba as a threat. It is time for America to have relations with Cuba, give an Olive branch and do better in all areas. Time for the Cubans in this country to get over what happened 50 years ago, "Don't Cry For Me Cuba, make your sons and daughters once again united."
