    I would never use Gregg in a game unless the O's were down by at least 4 runs (a mop up role) and Matusz would be in the bullpen as a situational left-hand specialist.

    If the O's want to avoid losing 90 games this year it will require the O's eating these 2 contracts.
    It's a matter of addition by subtraction, the O's become a better team the moment these two aren't on the roster.
    They aren't going to win 90 games. They aren't going to win 80 games. They need to start Matusz regardless to see if he can put it together enough to be a regular.

    Betemit's hitting .214

    Lindstrom's pitched 4 innings. He's put 7 men on. Keep it up, and he'll give up a LOT of runs.

    Chen put 8 on in 5+ innings his first start. See Lindstrom. He's working on start #2.

    Of course, all of these are remarkably small sample sizes. Which means it's just as silly to proclaim ANY of these moves "good" as of yet, or that the GM has done a remarkably good job.
