Default Bundy - 3 more hitless innings

Dylan Bundy faced just one batter over the minimum in three hitless and scoreless innings. He struck out three and walked one. In his minor league career, Bundy has tossed nine hitless innings with 15 strikeouts and one walk.

Please consider context. #1) The guy is only seeing hitters once per game at his current pace. That means the low single A hitters are not getting any time to see pitches and calibrate. #2) Most pitchers rely on only one or two pitches for the first few times through the order. We've seen the young Oriole starters all tire and give up hits when the third time through the order begins. #3) The O's FO claim they are trying to stretch Bundy out to get him through the long season. Makes sense but it also ensures his experience will for the first couple months be limited. He's likely throwing almost exclusively fastballs. That typically means early inning success but rarely translates well beyond the 4th or 5th inning. Anyone remember how Arthur Rhodes did as a starter way back when?

In essence, it's nice to hear about his dominance, and it is great PR for a FO that has done so poorly in the world of Loewen, Paradis, Hobgood, Matusz, etc. but it means little beyond the facade. I'd prefer to relish in Arrieta, Reimold, Andino and the others who are doing well for the big club!
