The CarGo and Andrus deals were both done very early on, well before they were close to FA, so if the Orioles have a prayer, they better be on the phone with Boras as we speak.

It's actually pretty high now-a-days. I'll see if I can find a link.

    Edit:http://www.eagletribune.com/local/x1...ct-and-fiction

Q: What is the success rate of Tommy John surgery?

Dr. Oh: At the professional level, it's reported anywhere between 82 to 92 percent. At the high school level, it is probably closer to 73 to 75 percent success rate of returning back to the previous level of activity.
So 82-92% chance of returning to normal. Seems really high to me considering the severity of the surgery.

That's very interesting and funny as well because I didn't hear that. Stephen Strasburg screams Walter Johnson to me! LOL!

    Sorry.....I'm lead/metal intolerant.

Perhaps I'm taking a risk by assuming your level of intelligence.....but have you ever heard of a term called 'projection'? Eh....I'll break it down to be safe....

Yes and I'm "Projecting" he won't make the HOF since very early reconstructive surgery DOES NOT EQUAL potential hall of fame in most cases. Not saying it is impossible, just not highly probable as you assume. Again I make the case for Strasburg, please stop wishing him well because with your track record of predictions... let's just say it's not exactly a good luck charm.

Oh BTW from your grammar alone I am quite confident my level of intelligence is clearly leaps and bounds above yours.

Can't blame you much for going after 18-87-44-29, since he's an annoying little twerp.

    Then again, so are you.

Much better grammar on your part though.

Really? Just wow! I hope my grammar is up to par! Great game today. Wins never come easy. It appears that Bundy and Stras are on pitch limits this year.

Bundy's apparently on a 3 innings limit. I guess they're training him to be a long reliever...

To those lame-brains who even give a potential Strasburg-Bundy trade more than a millisecond before dismissing it, consider this:

How many GM's out there would trade John-Carlo Stanton for Bryce Harper ?

    None.

Maybe one or two would trade Giancarlo Stanton, though.

I'm still trying to reconcile the whole John-Carlo : Gee-Ann Carlo thing...

But the fact remqains that neither Dylan nor Bryce has proven diddly-squat at the MLB level,

    Steven and John/Gee-an have.

You don't trade actual excellence for hopeful excellence.*

    This minute? Strasburg.
Give him a year or two, and it's Bundy.

Bundy profiles as not only dominating, but durable.
    Strasburg....ehhhh.......

Gonna loan out that crystal ball of yours ? You know, the one that projects a low-A wonder ahead of a proven major league stud ?

It happens more than you give it credit for. Every top tier prospect that gets dealt is getting dealt for someone who at least has a history of quality play. Look at Montero for Pineda.

What's the last Yankee farmhand to make an impact with the big team ? Mickey Mantle ?

I kid, but not by much. Montero is a DH and Pineda is apparently an efete little wussy.

Ian Kennedy is a pretty darned good pitcher. But I guess he was more potential excellence.

Am I wrong? It appeared that your point was that not many Yankee prospects make an impact in the majors.

Yes, you're wrong. I said make an impact the big team, aka the Yankees.

Plenty of former Yankees farmhands make in impact at the MLB level. Just not with the Yankees since Jeter and the Sandman.

Cano, Joba, Hughes. Melky wasn't a bad player for a while.
