Fox switched over from the Sox-Yanks game, so I got to see some of it. I thought he walked that last batter for a second. Glad he didn't, I love seeing pitchers pitch well.
There are only two perfect game possibilities:
1) 27 pitches, 27 outs.
2) 81 pitches, 27 K's.
A 9 inning 9 K no hitter ? Yawn.
So is a perfect game now a Humber brag?
he didn't miss 81 pitches by much....96 for the game....that's efficient...
I just saw the highlights from the last pitch.
If the batter would've simly hustled and ran to first on the wild pitch rather than argue to call with the ump there is no way the catcher would've thrown him out at first.
Imagine...a perfect game lost due to a wild pitch strike 3 !
...only to be spared by a lack of hustle from a major league player
