We all know that stat is largely due to one Hunter start, all of Matusz's and some remarkable relief from Gregg. Those are all fixable after the six week leash expires for Matusz......or sooner, he's apparently finally now the guy who will get skipped over when possible due to off day considerations. At least that's what I inferred by Showalter's vague responses over the weekend about that.

Regarding Gregg, he'll stay in the back end unless/until the bullpen gets sufficiently overworked to warrant a fresh long relief arm. I think that will be Berken in late May based on how well he's done so far at Norfolk. Angelos stomachs the lost cost the farther it gets in the season. Each week diminishes his indigestion.

I expect to see Matusz sent down soon after a few more uneven performances. I think Eveland or Tillman will be his replacement for better or worse.

If Matusz keeps struggling, I hope they can at least hold out on demoting him until Britton is ready. Eveland could be a stopgap but I want Tillman to get into a steady rhythm down in AAA to see if he can find his groove.

I think Gregg gets to blow one more game before Buck says "enough" and gets DD to cut him. Its a shame he's gonna cost us at least one more game but it is what it is. Once he's gone, I think you're right about Berken.

Maybe "coherent" would have been better word choice. In all seriousness though, the guy will all the numbers in his name who also trolls the ravens board seemed to be pretty representative of many posters this offseason.

louismatos;8004205]yes, all the people on this board who are actually fans are the clueless trolls. Tm is easily in the top half of most intelligent people on here these days... Ever since the sun made people pay the interesting discourse has disappeared.
Seriously ?? TM just may be an intelligent person in other parts of his life but when it comes to baseball...... not a chance... sorry. He is nothing more than a cheerleader and a troll. If people criticize the Orioles he feels it necessary to protect their honor. Not too mention his season prediction are so far off he loses all credibility. I have never heard the guy post one negative thing about the O's and that's okay for a cheerleader but just not possible considering 14 losing seasons.
but to rebut your immediate point about the "woes," who cares what their pythagorean record is- last time i checked its the real record that counts. Please, though, let us know whenever you find a reason to rip on the orioles
I agree. I have never bought into projecting how good or bad a team WILL be.

the runs they've allowed have come largely in brian matusz starts. 21 out of 66 runs surrendered on the year have come in those 3 starts, accounting for 32% of our runs against in just 19% of our games.

I really hope Matusz turns it around. He really seems to be a good kid. I continue to think he has good enough stuff to be a pretty good MLB pitcher. IMO, it's in his head.
Having said that his starts and our defense are definitely blowing up the stats

its a small sample size and any statistic one extracts is unlikely to hold up for an entire season. At this point its just about staying healthy and scratching out as many wins as possible, which we have been doing.
    spot on here !

Still extremely wrong. He is a pollyana troll. You might find the negative posters annoying but at least they're honest and realistic. Those are two words you will never use to describe the Identity Thief.

Last year they had the 4th worst run differential in the game on May 26th, when they reached 24-24, .500 for a day. It is a telling stat, IMO.
