Romney opposed the bail outs.. However, the far-right will believe any lie as long as it fits their agenda.

The bailouts were Bush's plan. Unfortunately, he was the one who started corporate welfare. Obama is clearly on record as saying the Bush tax cuts helped destroy the economy, then he extended them after promising to let them expire. So we get to pick between liar and liar in November. Great, America wins again! Obama, Romney, McCain, Bush, Kerry and Gore might represent the worst streak of candidates America has had in it's history.

Let us not forget Rubio and others who have lied. Rubio even lied about his father, now that is bad.

Reagan arguably started corporate welfare and "Too Big To Fail"

Also, under Clinton, republicans and democrats agreed to bailout Mexico

Bush 2 bailed out Xerox, the Post Office, and a couple of other companies before he got around to the banks and auto industry.

Obama continued the bank and auto bailouts that began under Bush.

No argument there. Bush was wrong, Obama was wrong for continuing it. GM, Chrysler and the banks should have been allowed to end up what ever way they would have ended up under their corporate leaders who led them to failure. The funny thing was how democrats suddenly approved of government using money to save corporations. It used to be when something like that happened, it was republicans supporting their business buddies. All of the sudden, helping out the evil corporations was the right thing to do. I guess it all depends on perspective. I'm sure if McCain had won and done the same thing, it would be all about how another republican used taxpayer money and drove up the debt to bail out corporations.

Republicans were concerned with saving corporations. Dems were concerned with saving jobs.

Regardless of the politics, you should be happy that millions of jobs were saved by the bailouts...

Yeah, lets's pretend that Obama just went ahead and left the tax cuts in place of his own volition... it was just a flat out lie

Let's forget all about the republican's holding the nation hostage over those damned tax cuts. Unfortunately, in order to get what was necessary at the time Obama had to cave on the tax cuts temporarily. That's not a lie, that's called compromising to get the job done. No doubt though that was part of the right's plan all along was to be able to call him a liar for extending the tax cuts.

Looks like the Romney supporters here are too ashamed to take this one on.

Hmmm. That's a bit of a cop-out. In that case, we can never trust a candidate to stand his ground and keep a major campaign promise. In 1988, George Bush Sr. promised, "Read my lips, no new taxes." By 1990, faced with a democratic senate and house that would not give him his budget unless he agreed to new taxes, he relented and agreed to raise taxes. James Carville and Bill Clinton crucified him for it during the 1992 election campaign. Clinton made several ads with him speaking Bush's read my lips lines. So if it was a plan by the right, they stole it directly from the left. I don't see how they are going to be able to use it against him though. Most of the right supports lower taxes, along with a decent portion of the left. They would have been better off letting him let the cuts expire so that they could point out how much taxes went up during his administration.

If that is what republicans were doing, I hope they take it a step further in Obama's second term and hold out on everything until the tax rates are made permanent. It is one of the few domestic moves I have agreed with President Obama on.
