    Default Amazing Bullpen stats

I was just looking at some numbers for the bullpen. They are incredible.

Take out Patton and Gregg, and Johnson, Lindstrom, Ayala, O'Day and Strop have combined to pitch 56 innings while allowing just 4 Earned Runs - a 0.64 ERA. Now take Strop out - the other 4 have pitched 43 innings and given up just 1 earned run - a 0.20 ERA! O'Day's 1 earned run is the only one they've given up.

Obviously it's not going to last, but all of these guys are pitching really, really well. If the O's starters can just go 5 or 6, this team will be in a lot of games. The offense is still deficient, so I think there are going to be a lot of tense nailbiters, but the Orioles are going to be in a lot of games this year if these guys keep it up.

The starters have to do their part too if the bullpen is going to keep putting up decent numbers. One of the reasons in the past for the annual August/September collapse is a bullpen that's been completely worn out by starters who can't go more than 5 or 6 innings a game.

Yeah the bullpen will quickly go from awesome to horrible if they have to pitch 4 innings every night. Ideally the starters should go at least 7.
