It gives the Ravens many more options.
It could even speed up Courtney's development.
Well.....thats 1 way to look at it. You say 'options'....but Bristol and the like say 'question marks.'

Yes I did. No doubt Gaither had a good game, but they also had people assigned to Suggs with the simple intention of chipping him and slowing his rush to the QB down. That extra 1/2 second enabled Rivers to get rid of the ball and beat the secondary. Watch it again and you will see it. The problem wasn't that Suggs couldn't get to the QB, the problem was that with so much attention on Suggs, nobody else had the ability to step up and take advantage of it and get to the QB. Outside of Suggs, nobody on the Raven's offensive line scared anyone in the league.

Sorry, IMO great pass rushers aren't totally negated by chip blocks. Suggs simply is not as great as he's made out to be. But again...that's just my opinion.

Of course he is saying that. He F'd up big time by taking a chance (allegedly) playing basketball and now the season is screwed. It was already going to be a tough season anyway with the schedule we have and the fact that we don't have a left guard or a proven pass-rusher on the opposite side of Suggs with him healthy.
Now, things are going to be a lot tougher and the offense will have more pressure on it to score points. Not sure the offense can handle that kind of pressure all season long.

Not as long as Cam Cameron is the OC. But of course...it'll be all Joe's fault.

If you watch the SD game closely the reason we lost had little to do with the pass rush. We actually got pressure on rivers at times. I watched the game the other night and saw the following

    1. Suggs was double teamed as most people have said. Still there was somewhat of a pass rush.

    2. THe reason we lost is because on to many plays to count our CBs were beat every time and rivers got rid of the ball as soon as the CBs were beat. That has nothing to do with pass rush. There is not much you can do if you get beat that fast. Everyone but Webb got beat multiple times that game and thats why we lost. The pass rush had nothing to do with why we lost that game. Every time I looked the WR was at least 3-4 steps in front of the CB. Not much a pass rush can do if the DB is beat and the CB just lets the ball out.

I would also agree that Suggs can dissapear at times. Esp vs CIN I have never seen him have a good game vs them. There are also other games I have seen him disappear.

Yes, Losing him for 6-10 weeks hurts but not at all as bad as people think. We are built to be good if one player or even two go down. Maybe not top 3 but top 10 and not to the point where it effects the outcome of a game.

I dont expect any different outcome of the season based on the factor of Suggs missing some of the season.

I would say there are 7 players or player combos that we cannot lose and that could have an impact on the season and the number of wins. Those are

    1. Joe Flacco.
    2. Ray Rice
    3. Boldin AND T.Smith
    4. Any 2 of the 3 Webb/Williams/ J.Smith
    5. Ngata
    6. Any Starting LT or RT
    7. Dixon and Pitta

I could add Ray Lewis to that list because if his leadership on the field and how he is still a top 10 ILB but I feel we have enough behind him where it wont have a major blow.

We have enough pass rushers and OLBs to fill the hole until suggs returns. We dont have the ability for the above players
