Default Capitalist ingenuity outsmarts and embarasses nanny state socialists

    http://blogs.sfweekly.com/thesnitch/...alds_outsm.php

This article shows how liberal San Francisco, apparently the model for the liberal elites of Montgomery County and DC, banned happy meals! The city council made it illegal for restaurants to offer free toys with meals that didn't meet the CITY'S nutritional standards, which are higher than the national FDA set standards. Similar laws are also in place elsewhere in the SF BayArea.

Yet McDonalds found a way around it and embarassed the nanny staters who are still smarting from defeat.

I fear that Maryland, led by MoCo where plastic bags are taxed, transfats are banned, and pit bulls are banned, is well on our way to becoming like San Francisco. I hope there is a way around PlanMaryland for example, and certainly businesses are trying to get around that protectionist law against supermarkets selling beer.

This nanny statism really turns me off from the liberal Democrats. They also tried to push that law that bans smoking in cars while kids are inside which is ridiculous. Nobody is saying fast food or smoking are good for you, but its not up to the government to controls peoples individual choices.
