I heard it on excellent authority that the O's will finish 2012 at least 28 games over .500 and make the playoffs.

In 2005 Angelos won't give up Hayden Penn for AJ Burnett and Maz was going in August for not defending Raffy.

Seriously? Angelos wouldnt trade a prospect?? Kind of ridiculous unless the o's and Burnett wanted an extension as part of the deal. That was kind of how they operated back then negotiating trades and wanting the player to sign as part of the trade. They rarely ever went down. the 2005 O's were 42-28 in Mid-June I believe. Then they went downhill fast, below .500 by the trade deadline.

Ah yes....and of course we know how that wound up.

Anyone found Sam Sosa's carcass anywhere yet?

Finally, your speaking on a topic you know something about....BEING A LOSER!
No one knows more about being a Loser than you!

The O's 2005 season was no where near as bad as the Colts season wound up this years.
In fact unlike the Colts the O's haven't had the worst record their sport in over 20 years

We had several chances to go 15 games over .500 and just couldn't.
THAT is what we need to shoot for next this year!

Angelos was never a Lee Mazilli fan. I remember when Maz was asked about no trades being made he said "Once Bedard and Javy Lopez come off the DL it will be like making a trade."

Peer Angelos fiddled while Camden Yards burned - it is well documented.

And how exactly did 2005 end for the O’s??

I know we all know the answer, just want the crazies who actually believe what they are seeing in the young season to be real. They will be where they are expected to be by season’s end!!

Ah yes.....well that's certainly more like it.

How quickly will it take to get 10 games below .500? I still say give it to mid June.

Why the pessimism? Would you like to add about 30 wins to your pre-season prediction of 65 wins?

Oh come one now.....don't you think it's time to give up the goat? We have seen this act from this team before. And besides...that team on the opposite side of the field last night is a LEGIT 95+ win team.

I mean really....Do you seriously think the Orioles have that kind of staying power? W/that thin pitching corp? The hit and miss (literally) lineup? The pure lack of death (especially arm wise) in the minors? And lastly.....that gantlet of a division we like to call the AL East? Again....come on now.

Sorry to be overly blunt.....but as always I must call it as I see it.

Why would someone who claims to not care at all about the Orioles come to a messageboard every single day to try to ruin things for Orioles fans?

It already is a story, whether the end is a crash and burn tale or victory or almost victory.

The Indians last year were a story.
    the 2005 O's were a story.
    the 89 O's were a story.

A pure lack of death in the minors is a good thing. No one likes to see such young men dying.

In response to your points -

    1. I don't have a goat. What does that have to do with the Orioles who are birds, not goats?

    2. The thin pitching corps is far superior to anything else in the AL East.

    3. All lineups are hit and miss. The O's miss Vlad at DH but are still vastly superior to the Yankees and Red Sox.

    4. The AL East is very weak in view of the collapse of the Yankees and Red Sox.

    5. Deaths in the minors would be a killer, if it happened.

Baltimore has no faith that these first place Orioles are for real, less than 12,000 bought tickets for a game featuring 2 1st place teams.
