    Default Logic and Suggs Injury

I have been thinking this for quite and while and it is starting to come to me now.

You would think that there would have been an MRI on the injury by now and the Ravens and Suggs would know if it is a full tear (making him miss season) or a partial tear (allowing a return after week 8 or sooner). One way or another it would have came out had it been a full tear as it always does for star players.

Logic is telling me that in the past the Ravens have done a good job of making injuries sound worse then they are. Which goes back to my point about the MRI, had it been a full tear it would have been out and been known that Suggs would miss the season.

Other Logic facts would indicate that nothing has been said since thursday which is good news.

There is no way that the Ravens or Suggs dont know if its a full or partial tear

My gut is telling me his injury is not as serious as it is being made to be.

Lets hope so. The Ravens to me seem to hide more serious injuries as to avert a media frenzy. Still I think we'll be fine. I just hope he doesn't rush it and make it worse. I think if they thought it was a full tear, he would have already went in to have surgery so he wouldn't damage it further. The defense is definately better with him in. Kruger is going to have to step up huge, it's his time he's been here what 3 years?

If the injury had happened during the season they'd have already done an MRI but since it's the offseason they wait until they can get everything lined up like the doctor, the hospital, Sugg's availability.

The Suggs injury is not going to matter as much as most believe. The Ravens are a team and don't revolve themselves around one guy. They may have the best secondary in the league and a improving offense. I expect them in the playoffs with or without suggs. ***He is going to be back anyway**** just in team for a playoff run.

I post on here occasionally because I love the Ravens/Steeler rivalry. Taking smart football with respectful Ravens fans is a pleasure, which is why I now write. I'm dismayed at Suggs injury. The man is a beast, plays the game with leadership passion and gave me team fits over the years. I know linebackers, having see a few good ones in black and gold over the years and Suggs has my admiration and respect. No matter how you color it, it is a serious loss to your team. I wish it didn't happen. I want the best talent possible on the field for your team and mine when we play so his injury sucks. I wish him well in his rehab. One heckuva football player.

We love people like you and like when we can talk rationally with the fans of our rival and other teams. There are though people who dont stop talking bs who we call "trolls" one of them has already posted in this thread.

I flet the same way when Troy P when down and was out. He means way more to your D then Suggs means to our D. Troy on every play gives it 100% and is always somewhere near the ball. He is also a class act. Hate seeing people like that getting hurt.

Also, As much as I hated Hines Ward I have so much respect for him and it was sad to see PIT cut him and see him retire. He was a true competator and was a major part of the biggest rivelery in football.

Does anyone have an update on his visit to the Doctor? I have not seen anything and I always say no news is good news.

But believe me I know this type stuff he had an MRI as soon as the swelling went down. Plus there are other test you can do that are non imaging that can tell if it is a full tear. Like I said earlier we would know by now if it was super serious.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs had surgery repair a torn Achilles tendon Tuesday and is expected to make a full recovery.

The Ravens didn't indicate whether Suggs will be able to play this fall, or if it was a full tear or partial tear.

Apparently it is a partial tear not a full tear. I think he may have a legitimate chance of coming back in November. I think 75% of Suggs is better than no Suggs and he would just ad depth to the LB rotation. Wally Williams came back and was playing six months after his surgery and that was 15 years ago. See Wally comments below...

"When team officials announced last week that Pro Bowl outside linebacker Terrell Suggs had torn his Achilles tendon, former Ravens offensive lineman Wally Williams understood what Suggs was experiencing.

Nearly 15 years ago at almost the same time, Williams tore the Achilles tendon in his right, or plant foot, while backpedaling in off-season drills. He returned in six months to start the final 10 games of the 1997 season.

National Football League Suggs, 29, is expected to have surgery Tuesday morning. He has already vowed to play this season, which Williams says can happen.

"Oh, he can return, I'm living proof of that," said Williams, who played in Baltimore from 1996 through 1998. "But I'm not sure he could do what I could do. I'm old school and come from a different mindset."
