I might be forced to go to a game there. Don't want to be sacrificed by the away team fans (not like any Nats fans will be there)..

A few people still shout "O" at Nats Park. Apparently it's something that Caps fans picked up some years ago, so it's hard to say whether the "O" shouts are from O's fans or Caps fans who have no idea where that shout came from.

In any event, the shouted "O" is always mildly booed, but that's about it. FWIW, you hear far less of it this year than you have in previous years. There are a lot of Nats fans who still have fond memories of the O's as giving us our baseball fix during the time when we had no baseball, so you won't find the outright hostility towards away O's fans that you'd find in Boston or with the Evil Phillies.

And yes, there are Nats fans who actually attend games. In any event, an O's fan is in no position to get all snarky about attendance. Go and enjoy. If you get there early, hit the Miller Light scoreboard walk - 16oz Miller and Coors Light beers are only $5 up till the first pitch. Buy two and take one to your seat - every seat in the house has a cup holder. And I dare you to get a Ben's Chili Dog "all the way"!

I love the O's though. would I be cheating going to a nats game?

Believe me, I'm a DC area native, just love the O's more than anything.

you don't think they know why they're shouting "O"?

I've been gone from DC for a decade now, but when I went to Caps games, I never got the impression that the fans were just shouting out a letter for no apparent reason. My friends and I certainly knew why we were shouting "O".

if this is true, it paints an unflattering image of the intelligence level of DC hockey fans.

*Edit* on the other hand, there are traditions in sports that don't seem to have a clear origin or reason, but people participate all the same.

But I think they know what the O means.

You can always make the drive north to Camden Yards and scream "O !" to your heart's content during the National Anthem, beta.

That is, if there's an inherent need for you to do so during the National Anthem.

Cool handle "Molly's Mom." I like it so much because my only natural child (also have two stepchildren) is also named Molly. So I guess I could be AKA
"Molly's Dad." (just not your Molly).

Why don't you mind your own business? I bet your face looks just like your stupid avatar. Probably jealous of anybody who looks like a normal human being aren't you? I can exchange posts with anyone I wish. You don't set the rules.

My face will indeed probably look like my avatar when I'm 90 years old.

You'll never get that far, though. Too much rage, too much hate.

A heart attack or stroke is awaiting you in your near future. May you rest in peace.

Right, you truly know me. If you did you would realize you are dead wrong that I hate anyone much less experience rageover anything. I may well have a heart attack or stroke but it sure won't be for that reason.

Yep, because most people with a BS degree and a career in accounting leave that behind for the challenge and reward of being a Correctional Officer.

You see what I did there ?

As a devoted Nationals fan, beta, I don't know whether you are trying to be cute or are you only just a moron? How will anyone "force" you into Nationals Park? Will there be a gun in your ribs forcing you through the turnstiles? There will be plenty of Nationals fans there. Most Orioles fans that I know are hapless morons. You're from NoVA. What is your excuse? You should know better. Please, do yourself a favor and the Washington Nationals and stay away from Nationals Park. We won't miss you. Go scream "O" during the National Anthem along with the morons at OP@CY!

I believe that the only one who has been cheated is you. You were cheated out of a brain! Please do the Nationals fans and the Nationals a huge favor by staying as far away from Nationals Park as you possibly can. Thanks.

Why would someone who claims to not care at all about the Orioles come to a messageboard every single day to try to ruin things for Orioles fans?
