Default Ben Roethlisberger: 49ers targeted my ankle

Also, there's this: It might not have happened at all. Mike Sando, who covers the NFC West at ESPN.com, went back and watched every Steelers offensive play of that game and saw no unnecessary hits to Roethlisberger or his ankle.

    Gracias, PFT.

Kind of like the Miami fumble recovery.

I think it is more of the media trying to make something out of nothing. Roethlisberger never accused anyone of doing anything, but the way he answered the question left it in doubt. He should have just kept his mouth shut and said no. He elected to play with the bad ankle, and the 49ers should have targeted it. If I was the 49ers DC, I would have told them to go low at his feet every chance they got. As long as there was nothing extra going on, no problem. He was on the field, the opposing team knew his ankle was bad, so hell yes they should be going after it. If you are out there playing, you and your injury are fair game. Same reason I laughed at people calling Joey Porter's push of Heap a "cheap shot". If you're that hurt, get off the field. I think Porter let Heap off easy. He should have blasted him on the way to the QB until the whistle blew. If you don't want to be hit because you are hurt, get off the field. If Roethlisberger was implying that SF was targeting his ankle because it was hurt then he is dead wrong. If he didn't want it hit, he should have sat out. It wouldn't have been hit then.

I saw this the other day, and I still don't understand why this is a story now.

Roethlisberger was asked if he could name any occasion where a team went after him to specifically injure a certain body part. I have no idea why. I suppose it had some kind of tie-in to the bounty story, but the articles I've read don't say for sure.

Roethlisberger answers with the 49ers game, but his full answer also states that it was to be expected, and playing with a bad ankle, of course there would be a bulls-eye on it. Of course no one reads that, and the headline instead becomes "Ben whining in May about 49ers playing too rough back in December."

Now that the draft is over, the offseason NFL media has to dumb itself down to whatever scraps it can find until training camp starts.

Or the dumbest quote ever, you predicting that the Colts will win 10+ games, then when challenged you run away like a little girl.

    You are an embarrassment.

Man up, accept the bet or admit you are clueless.

Most popular words right now are Bounty and Concussion. Lets see how often the media can use it.

And you continue to run away and hide from your "Colts will win 10+ games" prediction.

Why are you such a little girl about backing up your "bold" (lol) predictions?
