    Default Changes at Blakefield

In the past there has been some criticism of the current administration's commitment to athletics over at Loyola. My understanding is that that Father Pesci will be resigning at the end of this year, an interim President has been appointed and a committee will search for a permanant replacement for 2013. It will be interesting to see if alumni make their voices heard for the future direction of the institution and if it will make any difference at all.

In other random, less important and unrelated news, I also understand that they will be putting artificial turf on the Football/Lacrosse Field for the fall.

It is no coincidence that the turf is coming at the same time Pesci is leaving.

Pesci's resignation would be better described as an ' ouster ' since he had 1 year to go on his assignment as school President. Alumni protestations registered with the Jesuit heirarchy enough in recent weeks to cause this reaction. In other random, and certainly related news, the move to installing artificial turf on Hargaden Field was the " straw that broke the camel's back " with this development. The Alumni's Voice has been heard with the resulting expectation of a return to athletic excellence, new President notwithstanding.

The voices were loud and clear. it will take time to rebuild what he let decay, but it can and will be done. i predict it will take another three years to get the type of players back at Blakefield that we once had. after that it will be competative once again.
