So what??? Clarence Thomas is the dumbest of the Justices. He is even too dumb to recuse himself even where there is a huge conflict of interest.

How is he stupid? Becaues he dares not think how you expect a black man to think?

he doesn't meet your stereotype of what blacks should be, thus he's stupid, right?

I don't think the man is by any means stupid, and I really hate when he's characterized that way... it's just not right. However, it really seems like he should recuse himself from this particular case.

Oh, by the way beta... why dontcha swing back over to the other thread topic you started and answer the freaking question?

    No, he really is Dumb.

"But there were signs that Thomas is not a regular on the speaking circuit. "You know, it's really hard to talk up here when this guy in front of me keeps moving," Thomas announced early in his speech. He was referring to a television screen on the floor in front of him that was showing his own image -- but because nobody but Thomas could see the TV, nobody knew what he was talking about."

SCALIA'S EXPLANATION FOR RECUSAL REFUSAL IS UNCONVINCING

    Professor William G. Ross

    Cumberland Law School, Samford University

    Contributing Editor, JURIST Forum

While Scalia’s memorandum makes a number of provocative, useful, and legitimate arguments, it ultimately fails to comprehend the central reasons why recusal would be so appropriate in this case. ...
Scalia has revealed information not apparently reported in the news media which makes questions about partiality even more pronounced than many news reports had suggested.

Ha ha, like a bird angry at its own reflection in the mirror. He was probably mad that some black guy was mocking him.

Justice Thomas is the greatest American of African ancestry since King and Frederick Douglas.

Just becasue Justice Thomas dares to be a conservative and actually adheres to the Constitution as written, and not a lackey in lockstep with the democratic plantation, you are going to attack the man...

tell me is kagan "too dumb to recuse herself even where ther is a hige conflict of interest"?? kagan won't recuse herself from the obamacare case, she was only the SOLICITOR GENERAL during it's conception and string of bribes and strong-arm tactics used to ram it through congress....

Well that's pretty easy to do since there hasn't actually been a tide of marxism in America to stem.

Is that all you can come up with?

    ...a general platitude?

C'mon. What has he done. Be specific.

The list is enormous so I'll try to whittle it down. Justice Thomas has voted correctly every vote of his tenure on the Scotus.

And to double prove my claim, listen to the contempt the left has for him.

What more proof do you need?

You hate him because he's effective, and right!!!!!!!!!

I'm not so sure that working for Monsanto for 3 years (1976-1979) is a reason for recusal. He was only 2 years out of law school at that point, which means that he was most likely low-level and not handling anything major.
