It's funny how you take this time to make sure that I know I was wrong about this game, as if you absolutely knew that you'd be right.
We make predictions. Mine is based on the fact that I haven't seen a winning team in 14 seasons, and I expect the worst. If that offends you, feel free to ignore me, but don't try to come back to me like you're smarter than the room, and anyone who had doubts was either 1. and idiot, or 2. somehow "against you. You're not that important, I'm sorry to inform you. I've been negative about this team for the last 10 years, and with good reason - they've always proven me right. It's going to take longer than 6 weeks of good baseball for me to start thinking they're somehow different.
This is the crux of it right here.
People take it so personally when I take shots at the team, like I'm taking shots at them.
I'm not. Get over it.
I get that I'm a pessimist when it comes to the Orioles, and I get that I'm negative. It's not without reason. If it bothers you don't read what I post. Keep in mind however, that just because I expect the worst, doesn't mean I don't want the best to happen.
We are all a little skeptical or atleast cautiously optimistic after the last 14 years of losing. But when you're predicting a loss early in the game even when we're only down a couple of runs it's hard to tell whose side you're on. We're in first place, have a little faith.
No one is predicting a playoff run but atleast enjoy the wins while we're playing well instead of being Mr. gloom and doom. I don't know how you can enjoy watching the game if you're expecting us to lose all the time. In the past when we went into our tailspins I couldn't stand to watch. You have the same attitude when we're winning. Enjoy the ride while it lasts, you'll have a lot more fun.
Good god it's a game thread. When the other team scores or the O's bungle a play or strand base runners and people post reactionary stuff like 'game over' or 'O's lose' it should be taken with a grain of salt, not quoted pages later and thrown in someone's face. I post stuff like that sometimes, mostly I'm just venting.
Luckiest team in baseball.
To be honest, it IS hard to enjoy myself when it comes to this team, because I'm still expecting the other shoe to drop. I basically watch each game with the expectation that this could be the game that sends them into a tailspin, because I just can't believe that, just like that, they're a competitor. It doesn't make any sense.
