You being shocked( condensending) is why thes young men end up in trouble. For the record I could go to any prison across the nation and put together 2 NFL teams. Sammy Watkins has now risked his entire career over a joint. With that said he will probally end up a pro, he will lose more money because of this then most of the population will ever make. Their are a bunch of reasons why 80% these Pro Football players are bankrupt and divorced with in three years after leaving the NFL. I do have talks with my son and daughters about Alcohol, drugs and sex. What remains consistant with what i say is simple. If you want to be GREAT at something than put your best foot forward and dedicate yourself to what ever it is. It does not matter if you suceed or fail.It matters that you did everything possible to try.Do not look back in 5,10,20 years and have regret that you didnt give it everything you could. That regret will hang with a person. It is not only what you do to be a sucess in some ways it is more important in what you do not do.There will be plenty of time later in life to do the bull sh-t. Do my kids listen maybe maybe not. But I try! Yes I am one that has regret. As Far as your Sex Comment.Ask the former Star RB and Iowa superstar how funny you are. Go watch him at Stoney Brook. Four deadly sins of College Football 1 Drugs 2 Sex 3 theft 4 video games.

When you come down out of your moral high glass house and stop casting the first stone because you are without sin, you just may realize Sammy and a lot of others far more mature than he make human mistakes. I and now I see you, are the only two perfect human beings in the world. Hell, your president and many other prominent persons, and not just NFL caliber prisoners, may have made the same mistake Sammy did. The bigger mistake would be to summize that that 19-year olds life is practically a wash for his transgression. He very well could have learned A Most Valuable Listen Firsthand that the preachings you tout didn't really get to him as it doesn't with many kids to include your very own.

I actually read comments from Sammy following his arrest and the kid shamefully acknowledge and accepts what he did was wrong. He apologized to his teammates, his coaches, his school, and his family and related his complete and unquestioned acceptance for whatever punishment is to be handed to him. But you appear to want a pound of flesh and then perhaps more for a mistake many a kid and adult has made and many a kid and adult will make in the face of damnation lectures from the likes of you.

I say pullup and put this in perspective!!

I say you are the a-s. Yes every one makes mistakes. I personally make them on a daily basis. You are the one the condoned it. Not me. You are the one that jumped in to a conversation between Myself and Greyhound saying in your own way how it was no big deal.I have no moral high ground, I was not a good kid or even most of my life a good adult. I do not teach my kids to do as I have done. But do as I say. Does that makes me a pompous a-s Maybe. But I can live with that. I do every day. I have always enjoyed the back to back with GH even though we do not always agree. On the other hand we are also Men enough to enjoy each others company over a beer or a game. You on the other hand seem to follow my post and talk sh-t about me my kid as well as anything I bring up. Most of the people on this board have met at different time we do not hide behind a Blog name. If you have some problem with me. Come out from behind the curtain we can either work over a drink or anything else you may want. As far as Sammy. I am not much into apologize that have to be given. Not that he might have those feelings. The public puts athletes up as role models is it fair no it's not. It probably is not fair that they make the crazy money that they do as well. Being an athlete a prisoner or a president does not make you better or worse than anyone else.In fact if you compared the NFL criminal records with the politicians I think the politicians would look 10x as bad. My original comment was more about how great that those young men were doing so well at football. That all though they were great football players they were better, greater individuals. I am sorry you felt you needed to fight over that.

I doubt he has risked anything. Michael Floyd had three DWI's at ND and was the 13th overall pick. Unfortunately Big Sky as I'm sure you know if your at the top like these guys are your pretty much teflon. The Iowa RB was good but he's no Watkins or Floyd.

First of all BS, I did not condone the act Sammy did to get him arrested. What I suggested was that the offense IS NOT the career ender you rant about. Sure the kid did something wrong, he stated so but it is something far short of murder the kid can recover from to be a better person to himself and those around him. Time will tell if that's the case but you run off with ranting about if he [Sammy] is that great and smokes why can't you? Well, you can dude. Maybe you can do it legal by getting a persciption for medical marijuana. You should have no problem finding a doctor that would clearly see you're suffering from some form of numb nuts by the way you're going off on this issue.

This is PUBLIC MESSAGE board and you made a public post of which I replied. There was no foundation for a private discussion between you and GA. We all were discussing Troy Vincent Jr. What you did was state that GA should not over hype Troy Vincent Jr and then you stated that Darrius Jennings dominated with his play as a freshman at Virginia. I merely stated you were the one over hyping and I cited Darrius freshman stats to support my opinion that he did not dominate. Did my challenge of your holiness around here ruffle your feathers since I'm not one of your drinking buddies? Tough!

Dude, you seem to have me very confused with someone else if you think that I "...follow your posts and talk sh-t about [you] [your] kid as well as anything [you] bring up. I'll drop off the board immediately if you can point to such acts. I can't even recall chatting with you about anything other than a CHC thread when I asked just a couple questions about recruitment or what your son was going to do regarding playing college ball. Man you have me badly mixed up with someone else. Find the posts where I stalked or did any of the things you stated against you.

You said you are not into apologies so if you don't post a single adverse post I made, I'll take that as you are just mistaken. Humans do make mistakes -- Sammy a kid - you an adult!

Bull Sh-t. You did condone it. You either want to spin what someone says, or maybe dope is not the only thing you smoke. Your reading comprehension is poor at Best. First Why can't I smoke. First I can if I want. For the record Smoking is not legal with a prescription. It is violation of federal law. I for one do not agree.Federal law trumps State 100% of the time. Next you did not post a opinion. you insulted and called people names. It was fine that your opionion of Darius was different from mine. In my mind I think he did a great Job for a true freshman.(true freshmen that made collegiate debut against William & Mary ... has appeared in all 13 games ... career-high 78 yards (including 53-yard TD reception) at Miami ... leads UVa with 548 kickoff return yards, including a career-best 101 on four returns against Idaho ... returned first collegiate punt against William & Mary for 27 yards, the longest punt return on the season for a Cavalier ... had a career-long 12-yard rush against Virginia Tech ... caught four passes for 35 yards against Auburn in the Chick-fil-A Bowl ... caught 20 balls for 238 yards ... third on the team with 873 all-purpose yards ... led team with 599 kickoff return yards.)
Were Sammys stats better. Yeah they were, no dought. It was not your challenge about Darius it was plain and simple your personal issues and condensending manner. I am not confused about your post both you and I Know where you were and are going. I also never said i am not into Apologies.I said (I am not much into apologize that have to be given.) Every person that gives those apologies are really saying I am sorry that I was Caught. I myself have said the same.So has every politician, employee, player,Cheater and so on. Do they have remorse for what they did or that they were caught usally the lader.Lastly Sammy is an adult. The only thing you were halfway accurate about. Yes my nuts are numb they also sag. I am surprised you noticed!

Your you are right the better you are the more you get away with. It is in all parts of life. Also sometimes the people in the spot light seems to get targeted more than the nobodys as well. Kind of a double edge Sword. I am sure if the 10th d lineman would of got caught he probally would of not made the paper or the National News. I thought I read somewhere that the ND Qb recently was arrested as well. Did not feel so bad for him, felt worst for the jersey LB that tried to help him out by threatning the police with the mob going to come get you slur.LOL

So I condoned Sammy smoking pot! Then please show all of us where you take that I said it was okay for him to smoke. Now don't confuse me stating it's not the end of the world for him as you essentially characterize or get confused that I related Sammy could emerge from this a stronger person and be a real world firsthand example to others of what not to do; that the fellow just made a mistake he is taking full responsibility for. Do this at the same time you show us where I stalk you on this board talking "sh_t" about you, your kid, and anything you bring up other than the instant dialog? You will NOT be able to do so BS. Again, you have me badly confused in your mind with someone else. You even say I insulted you and called you names but fellow it was YOU YOU YOU who tossed the first salvo calling me an "a-s"! Now if forming an opinion that differs from yours constitutes being an a-s then I'm guilty. I just don't believe Darrius Jennings "dominated" as you stated even with the stats you site. He certainly wasn't ALL-ACC, 1st or 2nd team or even honorable mention from what I know. Correct me if I'm wrong. We apparently have a great difference in the definition of dominate but that doesn't warrant your romper room rant at me nor will I sit by and allow it without rejoinder. That you can take to the bank BS.

    Peace

Troy is an elite talent and I'm hearing is looking anazing this off season. When I saw him the summer before his freshman year playing In the Grassroots league, he was easily the best player. Was just dominant. It's was a huge surprise when he went to Prep. Prep didn't use him right. He has the talent and has the bloodlines. Look for a huge breakout season. What I didn't know was that his little brother is already at Gilman in the 7th grade. He is suppose to be a complete monster and the most talented in the whole family.

    Gilman continues to just reload!
why do u mosts always refer to players of color as beasts or monsters. that type casting is a bit over the top. why not just "great player" or elite[sorry my question mark is broken]. my sixth grade son plays football like a terrorist. does that sound right. even in my time at gilman in the racially charged late 60s, reddy never referred to stu simms as a beast.

You can't be serious? You obviously have no clue that I'm black! Relax a little, it's a figure of SPEECH! I speak of ANY player that shows out on the field in those terms. I use to call Brian Gaia from this years class at Gilman a BEAST all the time. Barking up the wrong tree my friend.

This isn't the 60's and I'm not Reddy. Different time. You probably should have PM'd me and found out who I was and that maybe I'm a person of color saying this. By the way I wouldn't have any problem with a non person of color saying those terms. Sportscasters do it all the time. Now if they referred to them as monkeys, then that would be an issue.

We have black president...........get with the times. So, the next time my white son's "colored" friend tells him "you were beasten' today dude, great job" what should my son say?? SMH

Your son should say that "beasten'" is not grammatically correct. What is going on with our grammar skills these days among our youth? Beasten'? Really? That is the dumbest term I have ever heard.
