Default Orioles 2 game losing streak

The bubble has burst on this seemingly Playoff bound season. The Baltimore Orioles 2 games ago were on a pace for 108 wins and after the two losses have floundered to a pace of 101 wins. (tongue in cheek)

One individual wants to trade our #1 prospect Machado for oft injured and skills eroding over rated/payed 3B David Wright. Our bats are fine and we are scoring runs but im guessing someone noticed DW was hitting .415 and that he must be gotten at any price despite a farm system we are committed to strengthen. We are not at the point were we have surplus to trade and we are not at the point were we have a strong minor league pipeline...far from it i might add. You dont mortgage your future because you are scared what the fans think.

Starting pitching was not considered a strength at the start of the year but they have exceeded expectations but at one point and maybe right now they could use some help. Im not suggesting mortgaging here either but if the GM was looking for improvements it would be in the rotation and maybe another experienced BP arm.

when you are coming off 14 consecutive losing seasons and you have a lightly stocked minor league farm system you are not trading them for veterans who will not dramatically improve your team to the point where you are almost guaranteed to get to the post season and certainly not ones who have one year left on their current contract (DWright)

we are still building and this fast start doesnt change anything...especially giving away the likes of Machado and bundy etc

In all seriousness , this is the truth about the status of our team and farm system and the direction they are going.

i expect the resistance to be brutal

I have to say, I've been on the board for 9 years, and nobody, not even Moon, inspired this kind of reaction from me before, but...

You're a complete idiot, and everything about what you're saying here is wrong. First of all, I never said that I wanted to do it. I said that it's something you think about if you're still in contention by the end of July, if you knew you could get him extended. Not as a panic move. You're an idiot.

Second, David Wright isn't oft-injured, and has better numbers over his career than Longoria, a guy you said you'd easily trade Machado for. You're an idiot.

Third, his skills aren't eroding, and he's 29, in his prime. You're an idiot.

Fourth, Bundy is our top prospect, not Machado. You're an idiot.

Fifth, you have stated on this board that David Wright would not be an upgrade and would not help us. You're an idiot.

Sixth, you consistently call me a troll. What you're doing right this second, in a lame attempt at humor, is the definition of trolling. You're an idiot.

In conclusion, you're wrong, and you're an idiot.

No surprise - you don't bother to actually read anything. You just open your mouth and are pleased with whatever comes out, no matter how asinine it might be.

Machado for Wright is something you consider. . . . for a second. It's also something you consider if you're an aging team like the Yanks or Bos that's looking for once last run. That's not us. As Jon Miller correctly pointed out yesterday, how did them giving up their best prospect for C Beltran turn out? And that was a team trying to repeat as champs. You offer NY everything under the sun for Wright other than Machado and Bundy. Which I'm sure causes NY to hang up the phone. If Machado turns out to be a bust or mediocre then you can come back on here and tell me I was wrong. It could happen. But it's very unlikely

No, first you said Wright was oft injured and past his prime. Then you said Longoria was a good target but not Wright. Then you said we didn't need help for the offense anyway. Then you said, after I proved every one of those assertions wrong, that I just wanted to trade Machado because I was mad, and made 10000 sarcastic posts about it.

    That's not discussion. It's babble.

you always prove everybody wrong it seems but constant whining doesnt really prove anything to anyone. We are 28-16 even after the game is always over after we give up a few runs according to you. Then there is the texas ranger/Wash national allegiances but apparently you are an oriole fan again because they have exceeded all your big talk about how nats/rangers are better organizations?

    I know your game slidemaster

    You don't know jack.

Firstly, none of that had anything to do with acquiring Wright. None of it. Because you have no rebuttal and you're trying some misdirection. Sorry, not buying it.

Secondly, you're just flat out lying now. Find me literally any post in my history that says ANYTHING that could resemble Nats fandom. Anything at all. Go on and look. I insist. And secondly, the Rangers have been my second favorite team for a few years, even as I continue to follow the O's. Nothing has changed, and no matter how many times you repeat a lie, it doesn't make it any more true.

I know your game, Selig, and it belongs on the bench in low A ball.

I don't usually get involved in arguments that I don't have a vested interest in, but this comment was too much to resist.

as a former debate team member and speech club capt I offer this comment. reasonable, mature debating is based on the premise that you prove the opposing opinion wrong. it is also in good form to concede when your opinion is proven wrong.

Slide is a Debbie Downer, and I honestly can't figure out why he dedicates so much time to a chatboard of a team he long ago gave up on. but he made a lucid rebuttal to your points. that's worth acknowledging.
