    according to folks who are close to the negotiations, TX will sign him w/i a week. his motivation to come back is to get a ring. the short list of team he's considering are all contenders. Baltimore is on that list, but TX holds all the cards. they give him the best shot at a ring. he won't sign for peanuts, but money isn't really a factor with him. he loved his time in Houston, so that's another advantage forthe rangers.

    sorry O's fans, this one looks like it's a lock for TX

    As Stark reports, the Rangers are the heavy favorite in Oswalt's eyes but the Rangers say he is not an immediate option and aren't close to wanting to pay him what he wants so there remains a good chance Oswalt stays retired. According to Stark the reasons Oswalt wants to be a Ranger: Geography,no worries about run support, no state tax, his relationship with N Ryan and a chance to pitch in the World Series. After seeing his criteria do you really believe the O's stand a chance?
